Congratulations on release day! (although a lot of work remains to get the game into the shape we want it). Two important points (of view) on the tactical combat: 1. like many have said, please lower the spread of damage possible, it is just too random, which sooner or later becomes seriously annoying when bad luck messes up your master plan. 2. I find the retaliatory attacks to be slightly annoying as implemented also. I know this is not a bug, b
Yes me too I prefer the sandbox mode and think this will definately be the strength of Elemental. Also, the graphics for the cloth map and pics of monsters etc I like a lot. I love the graphic style in general, only thought the intro movies gave kind of a corny impression IMPOV.
Hm, i f the Campaign is now supposed to be a tutorial, then I don't understand anything. I thought SD were only adding in some last minute tutorial points in the Day 0 version. In fact, what is really lacking in the campaign (but which I did not even comment on above) is good tutorial elements. Had I not played the Beta, I would have been rather lost ...
First impressions after having played about 4-5 hours of the campaign (v1.0) NB. I don’t want to be rude here, only give some comments meant with a blink of the eye. I like SD. It’s late at night, but I wanted to convey some first impressions of the campaign (first impressions can last for a lot of people …) Since this is not the Beta anymore I think comments and suggestions should be welcome and indeed expected. So the game can get even better. <p
It's 20:15 in western Europe now and the torture is just getting too much ... [e digicons];P[/e] But still hoping for a long night! Boss will be back at work tomorrow after the summer holidays - he will probably meet at lest one colleague looking like this, [e digicons]:puke:[/e] , one eye closed and the other staring, mumbling something about "that volcano shall teach them" ...
I like Raven's idea on increasing faction differences by letting one or a few factions have the possibility to create a harem with say up to 4 wives. And actually it would make an in-game difference also if you play a female sov. A female with a male harem would have to carry the children herself but would have the advantage of linking her realm with several others without divorcing. As for same-sex marriages it would actually also be an asset for a faction to have the
Sure hope for an early release, best would be now for the weekend! Can't stand this wait after all those screenshots! [e digicons]:dur:[/e] I "only" paid for the game a few years back so sure would be nice to play a weekend earlier .... [e digicons]:smitten:[/e]
Thanks for the one day earlier pre-release! [e digicons]:inlove:[/e]
Just wanted to add I love your idea on the DVDs without getting into this crazy discussion. Games and companies do disappear, you'd need to be Paul Muad'dib to know what the gaming industry will look like in say 15 years. Keep up the good work Frogboy. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Modding opens up so many opportunities, which is great. But the down-side is that filling in text even in an XML editor doesn't feel like part of the game (and isn't, since completely unbalanced, as pointed out). Don't want to say it but wouldn't it have been much easier if we had got some flashy races from the start? And then the modding could have started from there.
With this change in Beta4 I'm afraid were going back to city spamming. You have to build cities close to any important resources. I thought this was exactly what was to be avoided in EWoM. Also, it is actually quite annoying to have a lot of key reources just out of your control, the only way of getting them having to wait for your overall frontiers to expand. Would be better with some flexibility where you can claim resources nearby , but e.g. paying for it in
Quoting BlackRainz I'm sorry, I really don't want to derail the thread, but this guy keeps posting nonsense. Nothing I have said is violent, perhaps you misunderstood me because of your incomplete knowledge of English, as that is not your first language. I also think it is funny that you consider yourself a Christian and say that Zeus might be real, your obviously not a very faithful Christian. I also never said I was Christian, for all you know, I could be Islamic, or Buddhist or an
Quoting above: You do realize that Zeus was not real right? Plus, you completely misunderstand the whole idea of why the Greeks would write about Zeus taking Ganymede for his beauty. It had nothing to do with homosexuality. To the Greeks, the body of a young male or female was godlike. They practically worshiped youth and the beauty of youth. Youth being a human in their prime with a perfect physical form which they all wanted and greatly admired. Not much different from today really.
Quoting the Gorgon, reply 46It would be great if you include same-sex marriages as a way to link your civ with others even if you don't have the possibility to get an heir from that arrangement. Can't believe that would be controversial for anyone with fitting age and IQ to play Elemental. I mean, today same sex marriages are celebrated in CHURCH, and so what? The greatest empire builder and warlord of all time, Alexander the Great, was more into men than women BTW. So why couldn't
la date de sortie officielle du jeu est le 24 août! Il n'y aura pas de version française du jeu (officielle en tout cas)

I also would like to second these statements: because I wish EWoM to be the best fantasy strategy game ever it feels strange to realise I have no clue how the game will actually play at the same time as people are starting to "wrap up" the Beta. I think overall the discussions on the Forum have been quite constructive so it would have been nice if the "whole" game had also been presented to the community before release with enough time to propose how to make it even more engaging. That said,
In case it was forgotten there were a lot of ideas for late game spells at https://forums.elementalgame.com/329682 - proposed (possible) data for the Silver Death there proposed: Silver Death Strategic Arcane Knowledge: you decide Mana required: very, very high (you decide) No shard necessary A silvery light from the void between the outer sp
Quoting lwarmonger, reply 1 (or in any field... say a fire shard enhances fire spells by 20%, and all others by 5%), yes thats nice too i still like the idea of some "complicated" spell, like an armageddon requiring 5 fire shards and 5 earth and producing again a cataclism destroyed the whole world
Great idea! That must be the Spell of Mastery! [e digic
fully agree
This sounds so cool, especially about the Empires and the races! [e digicons]:D[/e] I'm dying to try them out. And you do have a very good way with words - I was LOLling several times reading that post! [e digicons][/e] Can we get to know some more about EWoM and the Geneva Convention please!
I've been in WidnowBlinds betas, GalCiv betas (I and II), Sins of a Solar Empire betas, and the Demigod beta. The only beta I was worried about was the Demigod beta and I posted very loudly about that while others kept calling me a troll saying the game was "done". The GalCiv I and the Sins betas were the roughest because they were changing massive things right up until the end. Sins of a Solar empire was incredibly boring to play
Quoting Frogboy, reply 67 Does that mean that the half of the game that isn't there doesn't need intensive beta testing, or feedback for improvement? That there can't be any major design flaw to, say, the tactical battles - a part of the game that's wholly untested? I mean, the point of letting us test the cloth map part of the game is that a lot of it could undergo design change based on the testers' advice. What makes the tactic

Given this was said by Frogboy, it does sort of bring up the question: How do I pick my Shard based Magic Books, which is done pre-map generation, with any kind of consistent knowledge they will actually see any use at all? Why would I spend valuable creation points if uncertainty becomes a factor? &nbs
