Did you seriously just hate on the Neverending story then bring up the live action DBZ movie? ...seriously? Yep. And I totally expected to get torn a new one for doing so. I don't care, I am a 45 yr old guy and I thought the DBZ movie was very well done and faithful to the anime. I am surprised it did not do better. But yeah I totally expected someone to bust my chops on that. And sorry, that dragon in

You know, I've had AC for years, with Alien Crossfire, and I never even put it on my dang pc. The civ series is my fav, currently I'm playing FFH2 (just got the damn mod to work, never could before). Maybe I'll finally give AC a go...
Hey, is that really how the units will look on the cloth map, with the bases? It looks like a chess piece; idk, but wouldn't that make the units seem more like 'pieces' than units, thus weakening the game's immersion? Just a thought...
All I have to say is please, please, please be perfectionistic about this game. It is such a let-down when a much-anticipated game is released and there is so much room for obvious improvements that they just didn't implement because they had to meet some arbitrary deadline. Those of us who have been waiting for a worthy 'rebirth' of MOM will have no probs waiting an extra month, or 2, or 3, or 4; we've been waiting how many years already. Just glad it's coming :) <
On a side note... does anybody else find supplying the ai with ai advisers a bit.... odd? I mean, couldn't you just stick the coding the advisers use into the ai players, then they would already know whatever it is the advisers would tell them?
Options options, they are key :) I'd make a tutorial under a separate button like a poster above said, 'load game', 'new game', 'tutorial', or make it the first level or two of a new campaign with the option to start the campaign post-tutorial. So long as the tutorial is optional.... Same with advisers; they're great when you're in the mood for them or need them, but otherwise they can get annoying, so hiding them behind their own tab ala civ 2 would be good be
Then why do you feel it's any better to steal it over the internet? The simple fact that you're guaranteed to not to get caught?
Well, there's no guarantee there but yeah that has something to do with it... I wonder if all the anti-pirates here are perfect law-abiding citizens in other aspects of life. Do you speed? It's against the law... Smoke weed? Against the law! Have you ever cop
@Myles "So you would walk into their building and take their product?" Of course not :) On a side note, when did this thread turn into a healthcare debate?
I say if you respect a game developer or artist then you should support them and buy their products so they can continue making the things that keep you entertained. However, if you despise a certain developer or artist, but still like some of their products, then pirate what you want and the hell with 'em. Stardock is the developer I respect most of all (well, SD & Firaxis), and thus I won't pirate any of their games. On the other hand, I bought the new CoD(6?
@ Cikomyr - yeah, I didn't mean that I'm not hoping for any humor at all, 'serious' wasn't the right word to use. I'm just hoping we don't see the same level of quirkiness as in GalCiv, but humor that fits the atmosphere & situation is always a good thing, even in full-on horror games. And yeah I love playing the evil bastard - in MoM I always chose one 'good' race to go genocidal on, razing their cities and using their engineers as slaves. Undead, of course, for
Thanks, didn't see that thread.
I'm curious as to what the overall attitude (for lack of a better word) of the game is, like serious or comical, like how Gal Civ had that quirky humor. I have high hopes for this game, and I'm hoping Elemental will be more or less serious and devoid of the kind of humor seen in Gal Civ. Not that the quirkiness of Gal Civ didn't work for that game, it did. So far I get the impression that E will be serious and dark, like MoM, and that's what I'm hoping to see...
Zorkmids! No, seriously... How about aurum? It's latin for gold.... Idk, I'd be happy with plain ol' gold personally. Rubar? Uhm.. that's all I've got.
