Only my 2nd day playing around with Alpha. Here is my B5 "inspired" Earth Destroyer, with rotating centre section for the purpose of creating gravity. I really am enjoying the extra power of the new ship designer. Something I feel does need work though, is the component selection process, which is quite fiddly. Anyway, love it! <img src="http://i60.tinypic.com/t8og95.jpg" alt="Image and

I don't like the idea of entirely impassable hex's. You could have special hex's though that are quite nasty: Extremely dense dust clouds, causing very slow movement Briar patch style anomalies that cause significant ship damage Conjoined stars causing gravimetric instability between them These hex's should naturally link together to cover larger areas. Basically, you can still go anywhere on the

Alright DARCA, you convinced me (didn't take much). Thanks also Rhonin. I did buy it through Stardock at $99.99, so at the current exchange rate, that does work out a lot cheaper than through Steam. I wonder if it will appear on my credit card as I expect. Anyway, time to name a star before time runs out!

Hi All I am really looking forward to GalCiv3. Then I got this email yesterday reminding me that Elite Founder is still available for a few days. So I have a couple of questions. If I buy Elite Founder today, does that mean that I will get continuous Alpha access up until the point that Beta is released (and then switch over)? Elite Founder is a lot more expensive than Beta Access (£75.99 advertised on Steam vs $44.95 mentioned above). Does this mean that Beta ac

I like the OP's ideas. The Coronata is by far the weakest Titan IMO and I feel sorry for the poor little psychic people inside who are going to die real soon. At least when its rebuilt, those psychic people will still be able to contribute via sustained experience [e digicons][/e]

Yeah but commonly, online reviews take games at release state, not 3 months down the track. The more we can help the Devs get it as close to right as possible before the release, the better for everyone.
There are 2 weeks left to the final release. I think the next patch will be the final release...
That would be disappointing. They have addressed several key balance issues internally. That should be released so the community can get onto the more finer balance issues.

The problem is, like someone has already said, SP and MP are very different animals. I haven't invested any time in MP in Sins, sadly. I like to win against overwhelming odds of a cheating computer, refining my strategies, but taking breaks and using the pause button a lot also... If I went online, corvettes would be a nightmare and I would be pissed at it. As it stands now, they make a nice supplement to my fleet, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe one day I'll take th

Bit of advice for you: Build the starbase deeper in the system (or have it sat there without "attack all in system" on for Vasari) Place other defences ahead/around the starbase so they may get attacked first Never build one uber fleet of doom, even as Vasari. Have an "alert fleet" in reserve, either in your major choke point or on the edge of a nearby system Scout more, especially before leaving a choke point undefended Hope that h

I know this is totally obvious to everyone else, but how do you abandon a planet? Do'h, figured it out. Now it would be great if I could delete the post!
