So I see that gaming gestapo has come out, trying to enforce their rules on the masses... Because it so very impacts them on how I play my game... Death to Cheaters!!! blah blah blah here's an idea, you guys/gals play the game the way you want to, and let everyone else choose for themselves how they want to play.

Also missing is the campaign re-work and additional varied quests
Absolutely agree with this
I'm assuming this beta 1.1 will not include the alleged re-worked campaign or tutorials?
So I know the importance of turns when building or training units, and moving around the map, but in the grand scheme of things or the big picture, does the number of turns matter? What I mean is, is it a point of the game to win a game in a lower number of turns, or does the number of turns that a game lasts not really matter? I don't have too much experience with turn based games with the exception of turn based RPGs on the DS. I have briefly played HoMM5 and a bit of Ci
What constitues a late game save? I have a saved game that is over 300 turns in, but I have only 5 cities, none higher than level 3, and practically no army to speak of...
I'm hoping they release AoW:SM... That I woud gladly get... again.
How ironic that the one big game this year that did make a move to hexes, and the public went crazy complaining about it. (of course, now that "that" game has been released, perhaps the clamor has gone done)... I remember when 2k first announced the move to hexes, the public almost rioted... And now here are people saying they want hexes over square... Damn fickle public... heh heh heh

Agreed, 100%!! I kinda thought the process to castr a spell was rather tedious, especially if done alot...
I played and enjoyed Spellforce 2 alot, but it wasn't without it's problems. Not something I would play over and over again, but still rather enjoyable. I had tried Domnions 3 a while ago, and it was too much for me. Of course my exposure to 4x games at that time was fairly limited. It's only been recently I've gotten my head around Civ 4 (and I'll hang my head in shame, but it was Civ Revolutions on XBox that made Civ 4 more clear to me). I also played Kings
I'm 45, and my first exposure to computers at all was with my Dad, who repaired IBM mainframes. All the programs were put onto punchcards, and we fed them through one at a time to run diagnostics. It was a big deal when we moved to 9 in tapes (similiar to reel to reel tapes). A 10 MB hardrive was a metal platter bigger than ourfamilies Thanksgiving turkey platter. When I was in the Navy, in the early 80's we had a guy in the barracks with a C64, and we'd sit there al
As a software developer, it's one of those skills I have in abundance. As long as the XML in question is properly documented. I find it kinda odd there's no way in-game to edit a created sovereign... I suppose I'll need to read through some modding discussions to find where the XMLs are at, what's in them, etc... Thanx.
Ahhh, that must be it, I think I forgot to choose one while creating my soverign... Which brings up another question, I looked and didn;t find any way to edit a sovereign once it's been created and saved. Is this true?
There
hit the little arrow at the corner of the righthand page...
There were no additional pages (or if there were, the were inaccessible since there was no little arrow in the corner, as I have seen previously. There were no tactical spells presented at all. And I even leveled up magic to level four (it was the only option I chose in the spellbook since there were no tactical spells presented).
I played a game yesterday, and had plenty of arcane knowledge points, but the oly spells I was given to choose from were strategic spells, no tactical spells were ever presented... Was there something I did incorrectly or missed?
Then I must certainly be doing something wrong... I played a game up to turn 387 yesterday, I had three cities, hadn't even met the other factions, was wandering around looting all the resources and items that appear on the map with the Adventuring technology branch... The it started crashing and I couldn't continue on at all.
I'll just be happy when I can play it without it crashing... So far, no luck on that front.
I've watched your first 9 videos, and will most likely finish the others today, and I have only 1 real thing to say... As much as I've enjoyed watching them, I was hoping for a more traditional "Let's Play..." series, where the player was familiar with the game, it's mechanics, and the different aspects of it; such as technologies, research, buildings, etc. Most of the time, as I was watching, I was getting the impression it was the first time you yourself were seeing some of the things
Let's clutter up the forums more with pointless debating so we can bury the pertinent threads with carefully crafted feedback.
Yeah, because I'm sure all the developers have no idea what the actual issues are... And this thread will now cover up all those issues, thus allowing the developers not to fix some important thing, and claim they didn't see it because of this specific thread... Please...
I as thinking of picking up the HOMM5 bundle (with both expansions) for $19.99, but then I got to thinking if I'd even really play it... http://www.amazon.com/Heroes-Might-Magic-Epic-Collection/dp/B0028GY640/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1283295854&sr=8-3 It's also available on Steam, but for $5 more... I was playing a medium map, 4 AI player, a beginner level to try and get a feel for things. I had three cities, 2 growing rather wel, one was foundering. I don't quite remember what I did right before the crash, I think I cicked on my third city to buidl something. I know, not very useful, but here is my debug.err file http://www.wizaerd.com/hold/debug.err There doesn't appear to be a zip file as desc
I agree, and if the target desitnation is more than 1 turn, show the number of turns in the path similiar to how Civ does it...
I hope the eventually some generous Elemental player will record one of their games, similiar to how Civ players did, and post them on YouTube. I know that each game and player will be different, but I'd certainly be interested in watchng a couple just to see how things progress, and get a feel for the overall process. I've seen a few that FrogBoy did, but they didn;t really cover a full game, and they really didn;t explain why he (they) were doing what they were doing...
Thanx Greggbert, I must've been typing when you posted your response, so I didn't see it... So the people you recruit, you move them around as well, doing certain things? Surely not any combat tho, right? They dont just stay in the city? How soon should I be looking at building troops?
