Ah, sad to say that it seems Yomi has left this world. Elana, it was a pleasure playing with you, to the extent that I could, and I hope you will not be discouraged at playing this game again. I would encourage you to give it another chance, at the very least.

One thing I like about playing this game MP instead of SP is how long it takes to play. Seriously. If I play SP, I am rushing through each of my turns like an ADHD kid on a sugar rush, never stopping to really think about what's going on in the game. With MP, I have a lot of time in which I am forced to think about how to go about achieving my goals, and, for that matter, actually think about what my goals should be. I also really like the diplomacy aspect, though I find it's getting
I submitted my latest turn 30 minutes ago, received no error message in reply, but it shows that the server is still waiting for my 2H... anyone else having this problem? If I re-send will that be a problem?
Tell us more about this battle with Marveni, Emerson.
Follow up question: do capitals ever have more sites than what you get when you start the game? Is there any point searching for sites in your home province?
Is there a correlation between certain landscapes and types of magic sites? For example, are death gem mines more likely to be found in swamp or wasteland? The wiki doesn't seem to be very helpful in this regard...
you were unlucky to fight the independents first
I was wondering about that: was it luck of the draw which player attacked the province first, then? Or is it based on who submits their turn first? Someone earlier in the thread mentioned there is a severe penalty for going last in the round and I don't know what they meant by that... I assumed this was one such penalty, and if it's not, then what i
OMG, is he ok?, does he have afflictions, missing limbs, chest wound?
Well don't keep the rest of us in suspense! :-) I was both fortunate and unfortunate in my starting position. I am at the bottom of that huge lake you see in the top middle of the map. For a seafaring nation this would be ideal. Unfortunately, not only am I *not* a seafaring nation, in fact none of my troops know how
I think he is referring to a different bonfire. At least I hope so, because, if not, he is in the NW as well. It's a little crowded up here with Hinnom taking all the real estate...
Well then, Lanka, today is your lucky day. Hinnom lies directly SE of you... you should meet soon.
Translation for non-players: Hinnom's commander Hananel won the arena battle and received a magic item of some sort Because Hinnom really needed that extra advantage. Ahem.
"Hinnom, Hinnom, Hinnom" This is the noise my dog makes as it quickly eats the table scraps I throw on the ground before it. You are thinking I am throwing a subtle insult at my neighbour in that statement, but, no really... say it aloud with me: "Hinnom, Hinnom, Hinnom" Still, perhaps that sound is an appropriate metaphor for what will happen in the NW quadrant if we lose Yomi too soon, alas.
Yes, as you can all see, negotiations are proceeding just splendidly.
Messages have been sent. Please consider my proposal, dear subjects... err, neighbours. I meant neighbours.
Please allow me as a disinterested neighbour (with assassins!) to negotiate a lasting peace between the three of us. I have already spoken to Yomi and she finds my terms reasonable; I will send a message to Hinnom shortly. In the meantime, please try not to use this thread to discuss this. Let's do so privately. We will get this settled in a manner that will accommodate everyone, but that will require that we refrain from unnecessary insults and accusations
As it happens, one of my assassins entered the territory as the foul event occurred, so I can say that it was indeed most likely an accidental attack by Hinnom on Yomi. Basically, we all entered at the same time, with Yomi attacking independents from the west (acquitting herself quite well I might add), and then Hinnom attacking what he thought was still an independent from the east, and me just scouting the area. If Hinnom does indeed feel some remorse for this unfortunate er
I'd just like to say that I am very pleased with how quickly this game has been moving. As a reward, I have decided to allow all of your kingdoms to maintain their independence for a few more turns.
I'm in Toronto, Canada (EST). I work odd hours, however, so I won't be consistently on at any time. Though my idea with the gems may seem like it would punish those in different time zones, I think that might not actually happen as often as you think. Really, if you think about it, as the person who is last to send in your 2H, you will also most of the time necessarily be the *first* person to submit your 2H on the *following* turn. I'
We should have a thing where the last person to send in their turn each round owes a free random magic gem to the person who submitted their turn first. That should keep my gem stores happy things moving.
All of the 2H files are showing as having been received now. Is there something that needs to be done to move on to the second turn?
Oops, already sent mine in. Do I have to re-do or can it stand? I did get a note when I first opened my turn that Pangea had cheated and his Pretender had been auto-nerfed. I assume this was because of a mod?
I agree, ElanaAhova -- that would be unfair to the Atlantis player. Though I'm kind of wondering if we will even have an Atlantis player... It's been over 24 hours and no response from the last three players. How long should we wait? Is there any way to contact them to remind them? (Does the messaging system actually send out a real email or is it all internal?)
My pretender is in. I note that the map we are using specifies "Middle" era and 10 players -- is this going to be a problem? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/showpost.php?p=624249&postcount=1 Hmm, it also mentions a mod "Twan's Mist of Deception"... must we all install it?
Hello, I am interested in joining as well, as an alternate if that's all that's left, though I hope you can be convinced to increase the initial player pool instead. My experience with MP is a single game that fell apart after something like six turns, before any of us had encountered anyone else. So, yeah, I still count myself as an MP newbie. I'm not really that up on strengths and weaknesses of the various fac
