Galwinganoon lol. And +1 for seanw posting that pic. Maul is OP no doubt, but don't knock it till you try it, as Das mentions if you can find a weapon with it you just won the game :-) Is there a maul spell? That would be a fun nature enchantment.

I agree on the city building to the effect that, it seems to be currently the one area that needs work, but has not been acknowledged as a major area of focus of improvement by Stardock. So that makes me a bit nervous, it's not the biggest problem, but it's the biggest one that (as far as we know) doesn't have a lot of improvement's planned. Only so many hours in a day though, so I guess we'll see what they can get in before this puppy goes gold.
+ Added a Research cost modifier by map size (tiny is 0.7, small 0.9, medium 1.0 and large 1.1) Much needed for tiny and small map play, thank you. + Increased Tech Cost Percentage Increase Per Tech from 5% to 10% What does that mean exactly?
What! How exactly did the road building work?
I noticed this also, healing spells need a boost.
Nice list, I agree with most if not all.
Agree with OP! Give us a trade screen or limit the micro needed in another way. I hate that the roads take the shortest computed path as well, last game that meant going right through a drake lair. Obviously few caravans survived until later in the game.
There is nothing wrong with a level cap, MoM had one for both armies and heroes. For the heroes though, you want that cap damn high, and it should be exponentially harder to level, whereas now it at least feels like level 2 is as easy to achieve as level 12. To fix it though I would: If a hero dies but you win the battle, it's the same as if he died and you lost Also as someone commented, what would help is a single slot for misc, right now I can stack
Let me just start by saying job well done, and thank you. I feel like pre ordering WoM has finally paid off. Now, a few comments about my game play experiance so far. Comments: 1. Maul is OP - Found a sword with it, let me kill anything in 1-2 turns with one hero - don't take it away though :-) 2. Sure this is already being worked on, but recruitable creature huts icon's disappear when implemented for some reason 3. I miss the spell research optio
One of those really annoying things that, while not a big deal, makes you wonder about the overall quality of the game. Has been happening to me since the beta. Must be a tough bug to fix I guess.
I would say that 1.07 on my Win 7 x64 Nvidia rig is playable and for a 4x junkie somewhat addictive. Is the game still disappointing compared to what was envisioned, yes. Is it less fun then Master of Magic, a game released almost 20 years ago, unfortunately yes. Will it continue to get better over the course of the next year at least, yes. So is it worth $50? I don't know of any game that is worth that, but that is what the market seems to support right now. I
Sounds interesting I might try it. After about 3 straight hours of playing I ran out of memory trying to save. Didn't lose anything thanks to the autosave feature. Actually kind of a nice reminder to take a break every once in a while heh. This would probably let me go another couple hours by doubling the available ram.
See image, can't move left, looks like I should be able to... http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4672/mapx.png
eh, double post here as well forum seems a little jacked at moment
I'm ok with it either way, however if you go ahead and implement a "builder" I'd like to see it to be able to do alot more then just build a road. That is one of the more annoying things about some games that after you build a road over your entire map, you have to kill the builder or just have him idle. Seige ability helps that some, but if there is a stack limit, rarely is the builder used in combat still. Let him build/improve mines, help on quests with caves possibly (co
In case you haven't already seen it http://www.pcgamer.com/pdfs/Feb10_Top10.pdf It's the last game listed. Pretty awesome.
Sounds like a fun mod, I'm sure the scripting engine will allow you have triggers and what not.
In regards to Sovereign Handling I would like to see something along the lines of the MoM solution. Sovereign can cast a spell of return if they have enough research or power etc... . Sovereign then can take no actions for x turns while the spell is completed. I don't like the idea that the Sovereign can somehow evade or not die, at least for a period of time, if attacked and defeated, that seems very out of place, and doesn't make sense to me.
Corruption on bottom footer (see screenshot) and whole screen flicker. Running Nvidia 7900GS, Win 7 x64, latest drivers patches etc... debug.err http://pastebin.com/me4ba9c0
Is it wrong that I like this better then the current cloth map?
I have had the exact same issues. The getting stuck at the edge of someones influence was particularly weird. [quote who="GW Swicord" reply="64" id="2378275"]Deleting the FamilyTree files is definitely only a partial fix. I'm getting pretty inconsitent functionality across sessions and cannot access any menus in the game, so I can't try a re-start and load to see if it gets me back or finally into a more functional state. The oddest variations are in whether or not I
I've also had this issue, seems to work better in windowed mode, possibly "stretching" the content across my screen adds/creates the problem.
One person alt tab'd back into the desktop and put the file back after the intro had started and they said that gave them back some screens. When I alt tab though the map gets all wacky.
Eureka! Deleting all screens from both places then running Verify install from impluse software, then updating elemental via impulse, then deleting only familytreesubwnd.dxpack at both locations got me into the game!
