They wouldn't do it if it wasn't economically feasible for them. Plus it generates good will, which can be very profitable in the long run. It was a very wise business decision. It would make a great case study in how short term losses could yield long term gains.
Of course I am aware of the business rationale. That said, Brad doesn't have to operate strictly from economic feasibility. It's h
Guys, you gotta stop giving this stuff away for free! I want you making great games for another 25+ years! Personally I like the move to Steam. I was one of the people who pre-purchased Elemental so even when I got FE for free I bought it again on Steam, just because I like Steam and, well, like I said, you can't give this stuff away for free! Thanks for once again reaffirming why
autoresolve doesn't work amazingly in general, i feel. The unit with the lowest defense seems to almost always take damage, even if it's an archer and you\re facing a horde of slow moving melee creatures. restricting mana usage would be nice, yes ^^
Oddly my experience is that it is usually the *last* unit in line that takes 99% of the damage. This is left to right, top to bottom. Meaning, I always put
+1 to this suggestion. It forces me to play a lot more tactical combats than is needed just to preserve mana. It might work if the battle AI knew to weigh the cost of the spell as part of the calculations. A 5 mana spell is fine, but using a 120 mana spell on wolves or darklings is just silly.
+1 to keep Beastlord as it is.

Sounds like a flag in the somewhere in the program code needs to be flipped.
This happens to me as well, I'd say maybe 25% of the time?
Should almost do a poll on this: Would you be willing to give up player designed units to have a greater visual variety in the races? Basically, the limitation is that each body type / skeleton requires its own set of clothing, armor, etc.
Yes
I'm no a fan of the instant roads in any case. I'd love a way to disable this. I do enjoy following distant enemy outposts/cities back to the main empire though. Saves on scouting.
I have seen this bug as well.
I was disappointed by this as well, I could find no way to get rid of Gnarri. I think for conflict champions it should be allowed to dismiss.
I came to the forums to report this issue. Very strange to me. It took a long while to figure out that the mouse wheel centers the zoom so you can move it that way. Feels clunky. Edge scroll is a must for me.

I hate micro-transactions on my PS3, and hate it even more on the PC.
I agree completely regarding the DLC. Really, in a strategy game with wide open and powerful modding, what's the point? I don't know what they have planned but I hope we don't see any horse armor.

Having purchased the game and also pre-ordered Civilization V I would throw my 2 cents in. I'm very happy to have bought the game to support the developers. I know they are doing their best and have great intentions and I respect that and trust Brad will get the game where it needs to be. Yet, I have played the game for many hours over the course of 4 or 5 games, and though it is fun at times, it has been a struggle to keep the energy and en
I used Organization in every game--even with the increased price it was worth it. Now that it is not an option, is my sovereign's army going to be lumbering around at a snail's pace? What's the best way to maximize my army's movement? For those who used Org. what are you going with now? I need to adjust my trade route strategy. I'm not sure how it works. Is it more effective to send a caravan from city A who has an abundance of food/gold to city B who doesn't? Or
I have found food to be needlessly confusing as a new player and even having now played a number of games it still seems a bit off.
Agree 100%.
Playing the 2nd slipstream updated 1.08 patch, I have noticed quite a step backwards from 1.08. Tactical combat is sluggish now, and I am unable to attack with the mouse more than once before having to unselect the unit and re select it. Sometimes it takes a few tries of unselecting.
I've noticed that the game loads slowly, is very sluggish now scrolling on the map and combat is back to the very long pauses between AI actions. The save game is 1.08 and my current version is 1.08 (though View History shows the changelog for "v1.08b hotfix", and there was a second update after the first that got me to 1.08).
