Dear derek I am sure that you will find here (see link: an official thread!) everything you are looking for. No need for contests when you've got at your disposal such a mine of ideas/suggestions/lists/mechanisms as this forum. It's becoming tiring to see Stardock wanting to look cool by asking time and again the same things. STOP ASKING! You've got all the cards in your hands; now create the game or throw the towel, the
Trojasmic
I think they have to summarily reject all other spell ideas and only put the winner's spell in the game or it will somehow dilute the grand prize. :-)
Quoting Trojasmic, reply 29Where do I start? ""This is a 4x game and one of the Xs is for eXpand." If you want to expand with city spam, go play Civ 1, 2, 3, or 4. Ha Ha, Boy, are we opinionated or what ??? Players must play with my toys as *I* say or get the hell out've my playpen Quoting
Where do I start? "When you take out the enemy sovereign, all their cities disappear so don't worry about the city spam." This is a bug/flaw in the game that I'm sure will soon be fixed. Great big cities that took hundreds of years to build don't disappear when you kill the enemy sovereign. Hopefully, this will be fixed as suggested numerous times in this forum with some combination of kingdom heirs, divided factions, neutral cities, etc. "This is a 4x game a
Lord Xia is right... I'm dragging my expectations for 1.1 in on the floor... that way I won't be too upset when it succors.
Ssshhhh! You'll wake the developers working on my 20-30 new quests in 1.1.
I heard you were as cute and cuddly as a pack of baby turtles...
I can wait two more weeks just to make sure 1.1 doesn't suck.
Civ 5 is keeping my attention for now... I hope 1.1 will have enough to make me want to fire up EWoM again.
Brilliant!
Yes, no, and maybe. Yes the overpowered nature of spamming cities when compared to building a few good cities has been addressed. No, it is not going to be balanced; in the long run more cities will be better if you can hold them till they are well upgraded. It will just be that building lots of cities will push back the time at which you can achieve big cities (thus linking which strategy is better to game length). The proble
1.1 isn't out yet, we don't know shit yet. And neither do the Devs, so repeating what they said as facts, doesn't mean anything. If it did, they wouldn't have been shocked about the release of the game. Simply, until 1.1 comes out, we won't know if it fixes anything.
At the risk of being called a suck-up, Lord Xia is my favorite forum member! :-)
Can I please get an update on this?
... a complete change to how manna and spell casting works, a revamp of the spells and spell books and a total change of how population works as a resource in the game is more than enough for them to try and produce, test and balance in one patch. You seem to think these are minor changes but they will total alter the balance of the game and how it plays.
that and 20-30 new quests.
Lets not have any more demands for 1.1. I expect it's contents should be pretty much fixed at this stage in the process with polishing and bug fixing taking place. Adding last minute features has actually caused a lot of the QA issues Stardock have had. Now post 1.1 that's a different matter of course.
I'm really worried that 1.1 is not going to have enough stuff in it to bring people back. I'm al
it's getting kind of boring seeing the same 5 quests over and over.
I hope I'm wrong.
Ding dong! The wicked witch is dead. Thank Buddha! C'mon...just kidding...having a little fun.
Can't wait to start getting more updates again soon...
Please don't go overboard with the refining concept. I could maybe handle one step of refinement, but I don't want to go through a 6-step process just to get a weapon or piece of armor.
A. I like the cloth map -- needs polish (1. some objects are still hard to see like quest locations in yellow, arcane temple graphic looks like a pile a of coins, 2. would like to be able to add my own notes to it) B. I like the idea of dynasties -- needs polish (this is a very unique and cool aspect of this game, but you've probably seen the countless threads on how this can be better such as throne inheritance when a sovereign dies, more flexibility around
1. Better AI...I'm sick of winning. 2. Uncommon/Rare/Unique item drops...I'm tired of the same boring weapons and armor. 3. Better diplomacy...I want more realistic trade options/values and I want the AI to be able to ally against me. 4. Control city spam...Cleaning up the little AI outposts everywhere is tedious and boring. 5. UI improvements...I need better notification of events (i.e. building/unit completion, etc.), impro
Hey Frog, Throw us a bone here... "Dear Elemental Players, I've looked at some of your saved games and frankly, you all suck! Love, The Frog" Give us something!
I'll put a nickel on Brian Reynolds. Elemental meets Alpha Centauri. Sweet!
