Hi Derek, there are a lot of great ideas in this thread. Can you have them all implemented by Christmas?
Trojasmic
my guess is that the engine can't handle a single champion applying his abilities to just one city or else we would have had the prestige thing fixed a long time ago.
leave the dead players in the faction window... we already went through this once before. Just put a big X through them or something.
can you wait 6-9 months?
I agree... every game worth its salt, has to have "fishing" in it right?
The out of game bugs are killing me too. Shortly after I installed Elemental, my toaster stopped working. Freakin Elemental!
I see one "fixed a crash where X happens..." in the list so far... have we been able to find the cause and fix other crashes yet?
agree with kenata, the cities are building buildings at an okay rate for me... we just need more interesting things to build besides 25 archivists (+1 research). i like the idea of multiple choices when cities level up.
I would also like the ability to select my city upgrade option on a later turn. in other words, a way to dismiss that message and then come back to it later.
Great ideas tjashen!
When I first saw the Happy Thanksgiving link from Brad, I thought maybe he was dropping a nice little Happy Thanksgiving patch in on us... here's hoping!
Happy Turkey Day Frogboy!
This game is really bland right now. Even if we get real good AI, the game is still going to be really bland. There needs to be a hook. If you look at successful franchises like Diablo, HOMM, WOW, and Civ and ask yourself "what have they got that I ain't got?", the answer is "courage"... oh wait, that's from Wizard of Oz. What they've got is some hook... With Diablo, they have the concept of common/uncommon/unique/rare items. How many hours did you
The time between turns in Civ V is killing me!
I agree with Xia. This game is really bland right now. Even if we get real good AI, the game is still going to be really bland. There needs to be a hook. [quote who="Werewindlefr" reply="35" id="2830635"]I think the damage changes to the bow were a bit exagerated. I mean, a late-era bow should be able to deal *some* damage to light plate armor, a mid-game armor, which can reach the low-to-mid-20s depending on the presence or absence of a shield. Also, I wonder what those accuracy changes are based on. And it would be nice to see the dodge "bug" on that list; I for one am reluctant to do any testing while
Lord Xia likes to poll his pud.
thanks Cynjian! here's hoping that all of your crashes are the same as my crashes so i don't have to post them here.
you might be onto something there OP... perhaps i would want to wait 1 more turn for my attack if i'm mostly a fire shard guy and want to have an extra effect during the summer!
200 mana might seem like a lot in the early game, but you run it through it rather quickly once you start casting stuff like "Wither". So I think the mana gen is spot on... use it up in the early game or save it for the big spells later.
When you have a bunch of stuff and you're trying to go through each one, it's easy to lose your place. Will you please highlight the selected city/army somehow?
Look at Wintersong's screenshot above ... Frogboy, quit teasing the weak-minded.
Imagine a battle between a Sovereign with a bunch of armies against another Sovereign with a bunch of armies... within a few turns the only thing left is the two enemy sovereigns... that would be cool! These sovereigns casting all kinds of crazy magic at each other ala the Gray Wizard vs. the White Wizard.
Wait till the expansion comes out... that way you'll get a bug free game with a decent number of quests.
I will second the annoyingness of multiple town idle/tech research complete/arcane research complete windows popping up over each other.
