I have it on good authority that Brad was taking any and all submissions for this report card: A, B, C, D, F 4/10, 6/10, 8/10 40%, 60%, 80% Good, bad, ugly Pass, fail At some point, he will thank all of us basement dwelling trogs for our honest and constructive feedback and then tell us to all go jump in a lake.

Great...now let's see the AI win by non-conquest.
Does anybody have enough free time on their hands to tally up all these scores in a graph or something?

Brad, are you willing to take a chance on a slightly-overweight 39 year old who's never programmed anything in his life, but would like to learn? I'm open to a career change. You won't regret it I promise. [e digicons]:cylon:[/e]
great ideas... i'm hoping they re-implement minor factionzzzz (notice the plurality of the word faction).
Yeah you might be right... there's probably (hopefully) a whole bunch of cool changes on hold while they figure out the memory issue... Would be nice to hear that from someone at Stardock tho...nudge, nudge.
So that's it? Are those the big UI changes we were looking for? Spell casting on a stack and instant garrison when building new cities? What about? - a more useful minimap with colors, cities, influence, resources, etc.? (ever played Gal Civ 2?) - active army or building highlighted in the pane on the left - scroll bar for pane on the left - sovereign and champion info pages that go beyond 1 page when they have more than 1 page worth of info t
Do you remember when 1.2 was going to be about fixing memory issues, AI, and UI? I'm seeing the work on fixing memory issues and AI, but what about the UI? There's still a lot of stuff we've suggested to improve the UI. Will any of it or Stardock's own ideas for improving the UI be addressed in this beta?
How many "Is Elemental fun yet" threads do we really need? If you haven't found it fun yet, then you probably never will.
I think we need an "Is Elemental fun yet" thread after every patch... that way SD will know if the game is fun or not.
What am I missing? I never drew lines between good and evil for Kingdom and Fallen... does it say that somewhere? In fact, I thought Mr. Frog went out of his way several times to point out that Kingdom vs. Fallen was not a good vs. evil story. Quick, somebody find that link!
Let's start a new question... how many of you guys that play on large maps actually finish the game? I'm with Heavenfall... Mopping up the map after you're the clear winner is tedious but I still do it to be legit. It's painful enough on a medium map, but that would be a huge pain on the large map.
Medium... why do you ask?
The downside with a slim majority is when you make a game for 60% of the computers out there, you can only sell to 60% of the market. This is why Stardock's been big on reasonable specs for their games- and it works well for them. I think with Elemental: 2nd expansion, that splitting the game into 32/64-bit versions since it will again be separate games, and the number of folks who will be getting it free/reduced,
this would be a perfect thing to fix in 1.2 under the guise of UI improvements, but i doubt it will get done. we've been clamoring for this since day 1.
What makes you guys think FE is going to be any better than EWOM? Remember we were just as excited about EWOM from "what we've read" that it was going to be the best game ever. Six months ago I said that EWOM was released six months too early... well it's been six months now and EWOM is still not solid. I don't know about you, but I'm going to be dragging my expectations in on the floor for FE.
I just can't get past the bad graphics in AOW. What am I missing?
I've said it before and I'll say it again... Stardock is made up of some of the thickest-skinned guys and gals around. We let you have it sometimes, but you keep your cool 99% of the time. That is truly commendable. You're tops in my book. The written word is easily misinterpreted without knowing the body language and true intent of the writer so I'm glad you guys keep smiling through it all as if we had written our posts as your best friend on a sunny day at Disneylan
What's a guy gotta do to get a 1.19b changelog around here? Is the AI goodie hut fix going in too?
You might be right... although Brad did just post that he fixed the AI not getting their goodie huts issue. That's a start! :-)
Long live Brad the King! Thanks Brad! Scratch one stupid AI trick off the list.
You getting rolled or still rolling? What's the latest?
These things are never gonna happen, but great post BK!
random variance when dealing damage? fixed. single survivor ridiculously strong? fixed. city bonus weak? not fixed. The AI is mildly better for the average gamer. If you're a good strategic gamer, the AI is still too weak. A lot of defects have been fixed. Unfortunately, the game is still pretty bland if you were hoping for a rich gaming experience. Try some of the mods... The modding community has been very active.
