LMAO You knew crap was about to go down when the other leader pulled out his JRPG sword of over-massiveness XD
How is garrisoning an outpost different from just plunking some units on it and pressing 'Guard'?
It would clean up the GUI quite a bit. I still think outposts are one of the untapped resources of this game. They could be incorporated MUCH better into the overall strategy of the game IMO if they had their own upgrades and faction/tech specific add-ons, etc. Would love to see them hav
Quoting ddd888, reply 7thats totally unacceptable for pro gamers The thing is most of us don't give a rat's hiney about the 'pro gamer' market. There's only a very very small # of those guys in reality, no matter how many people try to market themselves as 'pros'. Who cares if it doesn't appeal to that slice of the user base? Not me. I can't imagine playing FE with thre
I think its kinda silly how often half this games fanbase bashes on people that want MP. I don't really care either way (RTS is much better for multi strat games anyways) but I personally know a couple people I wouldn't mind gaming with on this game. Just because you don't doesn't mean others don't. With that said I can understand the OPs dissapointment but people have overlook well made SP games for a long while....especially strat one
Ugh...I've seen this happen MULTIPLE times and its annoying as all hell. In fact the first game I played through from start to end was a map with 3000432047240234 dragon statues back in last patch of beta 1. And it still happens sometimes. -_-
Personally I have a few issues with outposts: 1) They should give armies defending them a small bonus (they don't do they? I see no indication of it and tried testing a few times and could not see any stat changes) 2) They should take at least one season to become fully active after a pioneer has decided to build one. Maybe even 2-5 seasons. These are issues...but I have an actual wish. I want outposts to be further inco
Haha nice lore there. Apparently he gifted someone some of his teeth hence then made into that beautiful axe and some jealous/greedy fools tried to kill him for it...sadly they apparently ended up toasty! I like that....we need more uniques in the game like this! Even better....I'd love having certain uniques, which are lore-tied to monsters, to spawn the actual monster in the world if the item has been found. Wouldn't it be awesome
So what you're saying is that you'd love a game where you don't get an iron mine at the start of the game, and be completely overrun by your neigbour that does?
stability for me as the first, second would be faction diferenation, then tactical, than AI , then cities, then quests and random events. the reason for stability is that .77 was able to play through in a full game(small map 3 ai) to victory without a crash, BUT .86 only manages about 3 hours at a time even on small maps harpo
I'm on board with your throughts fully, broth
Can't wait for beta 2 update and the eventual beta 3! I especially look forward to fac differences and later on, MOAR diplomacy. The game is shaping to be billions of times better then WoM and its still just getting pieced together.
I wish Dex affected initiative too, or accuracy : it is weird to have both of these not linked to any attribute, but being some kind of attributes of their own when attributes already do too little.
I like the way you think. Especially dex = inititive bonus.
Voted fair a while back. Right now upon nearing completetion of my first game of .86 I have to wonder something....... Is it me or are units way too lethal? Its almost all about "first-hit, first to victory".....everything instantly dies almost, even if you armor up. Another thing is that the game is crash-a-holic on a massive scale. Seems to happen the most when I click on resources, such as mines, etc. Seems like a its a a
I would like different solution: it would be nice if I can decide how long any spell is being cast with bonus in power for each turn of casting i would do it like that: if you click left button of mouse the spell will go with default (no delay) power, and if i click right i could postpone a spell - this would make a game really interesting: do i want to wait? how long? Of course, with each turn you risk being disrupt
I have to agree......the food tech in general gets kinda nuts WAY before you can even FATHOM getting a decent growth potential. There needs to be more ways to up faction prestige or growth directly IMO...that would: 1) Make the grain techs and civics in general a bit more strong 2) Make it even more powerful to concentrate on a few cities instead of spam (those few cities would level up even faster giving you good rewards) &n
"I believe one change in beta 2 is that crashes are uploaded to the server via the Windows error reporting thingy. So we should have a lot more to work with." Awww....that may explain why I can't find the err files, etc. I've been saying cancel to it. Is this the way we need to be sending reports now? I really wanna send some reports in...beta 2 is ridiculously less stable then beta 1. I think I've crashed about 22 times today in
Gameplay wise a big step up. Stability wise a megatonic-huge step down. Both .85 and .86 crash like crazy and don't even generate reports I can send in when it DOES crash. (yes I read the forum post about sending reports - the game does not make a zip nor err file, period. ) Then tack on extra bugs that did not exist before like not being able to walk past land-lowered mountains and I feel the update is merely "meh". Not saying I didn&
I have to second (or third) this. Currently cut a path straight through a mountain area and still couldnt get through, even when trying to walk the unit square by square and the path was assuredly flat. Used about 7 casts to make certain there was a chunk of flat terrain with no result.
Gotta admit I'm unsure about the "City gets razed - land is now barren" altho it KIND OF makes sense....as it seems like its more of a "scorched earth approach". If your gonna kill the city you don't want, you don't want someone else taking the land period....... Its funny but I think I just talked myself into liking this change! LOL EDIT: One concern I just thought of....if a city gets attacked and destroyed by neutral critters does it still g
Oh.....where to start. I am a king among lurks. A lurking demi-god, if you wish to call it that. I have lurked this forum and the original Elemental forums since before I first preordered the original game. I was dissapointed with the original Elemental, I must admit. I played it but it did not take long to find its way off my HD...but I couldn't stay mad...you guys gave us GalCiv2, afterall...so I was happy to support you more in all honesty. Then you give all of
As far as some folks I've spoken to lead me to believe...yes.
I still have not gotten a email about my pre-order nor shipping. I have also sent a email into the address............... This is quite dissapointing especially since some stores are already carrying the thing. Stardock could at least provide a place or way to check on our pre-order status or to make certain we are on the list. It would be different if I could cancel and make certain I can get a Ltd Edition at t
