Immediately after starting a new game on the large map, the locations around my sovereign's starting point have a display problem. It appears lots of vertices get initialized to absolute or something like that. Screenshots with zoomed and cloth map and the savegame and debug.err are in http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9613481/elementalbug.zip.

I have seen people refer to late game / mid game. How long is a game supposed to last? How much does it change based on map size? What do you consider the early / middle / late game turns and technologies. Since I have the OOM bug, I have no game for more than 219 turns or so, so far. Is that early / middle or late?

ATI Catalyst 10.8 64bit drivers, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit edition. Elemental 1.07.025. I don't see this behaviour. In fact, after updating the drivers (and still with Elemental 1.07) got no OOM, but I didn't play for very long.

What I perceived was: Round T (LastAutoSave): A band of bandits is standing left of my sovereign. I attack and kill them. Round T+1 (AutoSave): The same band is still there, same names and health. I leave. Round (T+1 => T+2): I get a message about someone attacking my sovereign. I get no battle report, and no tactical combat. Round T+2: The band of bandits is now north of my sovereign, but only their leader is still alive.

But they appeared in the same location both times, with the same (non-full) HP, just after I killed them. PS: Also, after I left them behind, I got a message that my sovereign was attacked, but no combat window or battle (and I have no limit for tactical combat). And THEN the group was decimated (only their leader survived the non-encounter).

Ok, a data point. I used to have the out of memory problem too, with Windows 7 64bit, ATI HD Radeon. It would appear around 2 hours into the game (turn 120+ - 200). I have updated to the latest Catalyst drivers (10.8) and now I have played 165 round, at least 3 hours of game time. No crash, but I have to go now. Will try again another afternoon that I will have that amount of time.
Alt+Tab Crashes
A data point. Windows 7, 64bit, ATI HD Radeon. I used to have the CTD after Alt-Tab even on 1.06, but after updating the Catalyst drivers to 10.8, the problem seems to have stopped.
City building (note I do not know how to reproduce this but it happens all the time to me). For clarity I want to define two terms I will use: City improvements are those improvements attached directly to a city on the grid (e.g. workshop, study). Resource improvements are the improvements built on one of the resources (e.g. gold mines, farms). As far as I can tell, the city improvements are fine. However, when I build a resource impro

Ok, in the linked archive I have the last two autosave (1 per round), where you can see the same group of bandits at the left of my sovereign. I have killed them during the previous rounds, yet they appear again, same HP, same name, same location.

The line that reads (emphasis mine): [CounterAttackMissLine] MISS - %s's counter- attck missed %s.\n Should obviously be (emphasis mine): [CounterAttackMissLine] MISS - %s's counter- attack missed %s.\n More errors as I find them...

I have it all the time, after playing the game (haven't tried campaign) for 70 - 130 minutes into the game. Autosave every 5 turns. The latest save, dump and debug.err are in the ZIP http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9613481/Elemental1_06-2010-08-30T00-19-30-191.zip Intel Quad, ATI Radeon, Windows 7 64bit.

I have started a game with "cloth map only" enabled and autoturn off. When I set the autoturn back to on, the map became normal terrain, and would remain so even at extreme zoom out. When I changed the autoturn to on I was zoomed in enough to have the normal terrain appear at normal game. When I changed the cloth map to off and back to on again, the cloth map returned.

I also got the "in-the-middle-of-the-forest" start. And while the sovereign can move around, getting the free city in there is bad, since it can't grow (no buildable spaces). So I believe it is indeed a bug. Unfortunatelly I didn't save the game, so I only have the screenshot .

The mountains south of "Gama" and west of "Kacib" did not appear on the cloth map when I was playing the game, but do appear when I load the save game now. Here is a screenshot with the missing mountains: http://www.screencast.com/t/NDdkZGNm And here is a ZIP containing the .DMP file and the save. (This is also an OOM dump). <a title="My archive with everything." href="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9613481/elemental-deb

Ok, just had another OOM. The archive (which I made) contains all the relevant files (debug.err, the .DMP file, my prefs.ini and both autosave games). Autosave was set to save every turn, no sound was enabled, and the game was running in a window. I am running Windows 7 64bit, in a system with 8GB of RAM. I understand that the game still is 32bit, and it crashed when it got to about 1.5GB usage. <a title="My archive with everything." href="http://dl.dro
