If I could be sure that SD would not be leashed by the publisher and made to release a buggy piece of mess just to keep a release date I guess I would probably reconsider though.
I would guess StarDock (that is, Brad Wardell) would only be willing to make a MoO3 or StarControl3 (the others don't count) if they would get total controll over the licence. (Which seems to be what prevented them from making MoM2 since Atari didn't want to give those licences

I would guess yes, as this would force you to choose between sacrificing some of a tiles utility or leaving it defenseless. This would also encourage the player to take the terrain into consideration much more when expand their city, as a properly placed tile facing a river for example would not need to have a wall (since the terrain is providing protection). But this wo

Hmm... I think the one in the lower left looks better then the one I have at the moment. Though it's a bit more brown then the original, so... Argh, I can't decide for myself. I suck at deciding for something and I wan't to call myself a magic emporer? I really can't say which ones do look better. [e digicons]X([/e] PS. [e digicons]k1[/e] to you too.
If it doesn't turn you off pretty quickly ,
With that being the important part. I won't say how I think about the books, but ask the nice clerk at your local bookstore for good fantasy books (you'll always have a fantasy nerd at larger bookstores) and they'll give you enough to read until the beta release of the game. :)
Which Wiki do you think would be the more suitable Vandenburg ? I am creating a Elemental:WoM fansite and I could add a wiki to it. I am waiting for Frogboy answer about using original website design and once it is ok I will show you guys !
Well, I don't have that much experience with the wiki software themselves (I'm more of a contributor) but imho MediaWiki is a very good one.
Btw. speaking of fansite: Could you incorporate a wiki function in to it? (Or make a seperate wiki site for that.) Imho wikis are the best and easiest way to collect and add information about a game from different and smaller contributors and somehow loosens the problem of larger sites to maintain a high amount of activity since you don't need that much constant staff for it.
Yep for sure Anyway, have we a chance that those ideas will be implemented? Yes i'm talking to you devs
Well, I think we will have to wait for the beta to get a definitive answer. Problem is, StarDock will allready have decided for a system for the battles in the game and most likely won't change it until the beta. They'll probably wait until we've played their system until they s
I like the idea of spoils of war a simple system could look like this imho: - Part of the equipment of the losing side is salvagable after a battle - You can pick it up with your army and equip your troops with it (if troop equipment change is possible after troop creation) - Everything not used stays at that tile until a caravan (automatically generated from the nearest possible location) comes to pick it up (If units have inventories to store stuff, yo

It's just so that you won't have civilications made out of fantastical creatures and that powerful units will be rare (and powerful ;) ).
Or is it a just a question of taste / style of the game?
This.
Imho while those ideas sound fun in concept, they're probably to rigid and abstract for the game itself. Basing the player's doctrines on his past actions sounds good in concept, but if the actions that lead to certain doctrines aren't chosen very carefully it can be very confusing to somebody why he gets a doctrine or why he doesn't. Also, as keithLamote discovered, such a system has only one axe (it can have more of course, but it will get very confusing then). Final
