Count me among them. What you describe sounds cool, but I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to game content. I'm also a firm believer in Sturgeon's Law: "99% of everything is crap" and I believe that it applies doubly to game mods. You guys may be ranking and sorting them based on production value, and so forth, but that won't address issues of game balance. It's difficult enough to create a balanced game in the first place,

I've looked through some sites of which I knew thatt hey're "good" and haven't seen a single torrent about the game. So in conclusion, all is well on the time-traveling space pirate front. <

I get these also when using anti-aliasing (I have a Radeon HD3850) in Sins of a Solar Empire and I was just wondering if its a known issue and if it will be fixed?
It's a known issue which won't be fixed, since it is IIRC a graphic cards and drivers issue. Very nice. I really digg that artstyle. [e digicons][/e] Please show us a picture of the drake in action. It doesn't matter that other people won't like it, they'll whine anyway. But us Elemental addicted need something to tie us over this cold winter nights. [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
If thats the case then what 'classes', 'ability' or 'feats' should we have abailable? Just how custumizable will a hero be?
Well, going after what had been said before, you won't be able to create heroes at all. You can hire wandering heroes (or from certain events I guess). That said, you would still be able to make your own heroes and add them to the game, just not during playing, I guess.
This persistent world idea sounds really interesting, but to echo what someone above posted, please don't let this kind of development interfere with the single player game. I read somewhere, and hopefully the developers have numbers, that in games that include both single player and multiplayer, the percentage of people that play single player is much higher then the percentage of people that play multiplayer. This means that the sing
Oh yes please. That blitz through history at the end of the Civ games was imho allways the best part of a long game. :)
In fact, in terms of the single player game, it will have a lot more "stuff" to it than GalCiv had (such as a virtual persistent single player opponent which we'll talk more as time goes on).
Oh, does that mean we get an AI that remembers stuff from game to game? Meaning that if I usually play as a relentless backstabber it won't trust me so much (or at all) in other games? That would be really nice. :) I allways tho

Nah, the problem is not the graphics but that some people seem to think insulting large groups of gamers is something good. And I've got an aversion to such rude behaviour. But anyway, that's offtopic. :) I didn't not like Dominions because of the graphics (hey, I play Dwarf Fortress :P ) but because of its interface and gameplay mechanics. (And the AI.) It was Frogboy who cruelly killed the idea of tactical water combat. ;) So it's probably similar to the Total War series. There are ships but only instant battles with them. Probably.
Any chance the tactical game will be something like the Total War series, or is it discrete turns displayed continuously (a la many of the D&D CRPGs out there)?
Well, we don't really know since the battle system doesn't seem to be finalised yet, but a premature guess would be the latter. :)
Quoting Lavitage, reply 12 Hard to make =/= good no but the personal level detail that good sprite art represents is. that's what dominions has that you've never seen in a game; personal level detail. most people are so force fed with commercialized crap that they don't even know what that means anymore. Yeah, the undead mechanism was fun. Having thousands of undead spawn after large battles is a nice idea. [e digicons]}:)[/e] What I mainly didn't like about the battles was the controll over spellcaster. If you left them with too many magic gems they would waste them on the wrong spells, used on unimportant troops and didn't cast them on the right time. Or didn't use them while you wanted. All in all it was a mess. Though hero customisation with items was much
-Elemental will almost certainly start out with the same kind of dismal AI as D3. It can't be helped; modern turn-based strategy games are bloody complex and making an AI that understands them well right out of the gate with only the feedback of a few beta testers to go off of is pretty much impossible. Unlike D3, though, there is hope that Stardock's constant tinkering that they do with their games will fix it.
Disagree. The AI in GalCiv2 at release was pretty good (co
Another point that's been raised by RisingLegend and Luckmann are how trade routes/caravans are displayed. I agree that caravans shouldn't be obstrusive, large units trekking across the screen. It would look kind of funny, and it would make things way too cluttered near popular trade routes. I can't remember where, and I can't find it now, but I think Frogboy commented briefly about how caravans will work, that they will be somewhat abstract. He didn't give much away but hinted that ca
A further question in relation to this topic is, will we have access to modify the AI and add in new functionality (ala Civ4 AI SDK)?
Probably not (though I'm in no position to answer that) since Elemental will probably not use scripted AIs like CivIV but an AI similar to the one in GalCiv2 which couldn't be changed by modders either.
