Because a game that could potentially have 32 players and hundreds, if not thousands of units should have graphics like Crysis, and should only be playable on computers that won't exist for another 3 years. Gee, that makes total sence. Oh, and that's sarcasm, by the way How can anybody make

Yeah, there is really a lot of improvement in the graphics in the last few months. It's fun watching how the game evolves. It makes you feel involved and shortens the time till the beta. So keep the screenshots (and the twitter updates) flowing. :D
And I will second this But they did it in MoM and CIV so I think we can expect it Though wouldnt be awesome to see a 20,000 people settlement take up like 10 map spaces and 20,000 visible little houses we could count!? lol right...
Since cities will spread on the map (each size increase gives you another tile to spread your city towards, ie. no one-tile cities like civIV, but multiple tile cities) I think we'll get a good representation of city sizes on t

It's more enjoyable, however, to zoom way in behind a single character and lead them around with the standard WASD setups. Looks very nice. I've only two little peanuts I don't like. The power lines/fences are much too regular and thus look a bit silly/artificial. The black lines are mostly fine, but when they're used at the bottom of the buildings/wall they make everything look like it is floating. I wonder if it would look better with improved shadows or more detailed grounds. Else, it looks very good and is pleasing to the eye. Oh, and I second the request fo

Considering the level of suck the show had reached in the last year, I'm not sure if I care. (And seriously, are their writers sadists or did they just want to test how annyoing the could make the President and Adama? I would have been much better if the Cylons would have succeded in wiping them out eventually...) [e digicons]-_-[/e] /rant

Greatest fear: The campaign and writing. The campaign in GalCivII was very lackluster and to me quite boring (though it got a bit better with the expansions). The writing in the game wasn't that good (though it had quite some funny jokes in the tech describtions and diplomatic messages) and it just wasn't very atmospheric. (And I still can't stand the grammar errors in the game texts...) Greates hope: Revival of the isometric turn based games, be they RPGs or strategy g

Shorter WIllythemailboy: Global Warming is a a conspiracy of climate scientists to get more grant money. Or: Climate =/= Weather, I don't know the difference. Or: Weather stations are systematically flawed (probably by the global warming conspiracy cabal which has manipulated them all I guess) and they just agree with the measurements of satellites (holy cow, they now have artificial satellites in space that can measure temperature, what will those wacky scie

Yay for global warming. I like hot weather. Well, it will suck for the USA (does the word Dust Bowl ring a bell?) but since I'm from an area that will always have enough water, yay for me and sucks for the rest of the world. What you're asking for is to preserve the random number which is used to calculate battle results. CivIV for example had the option in the game creation menu to preserve this seed during saves or to generate a new one when the game gets loaded. Personally I always played with that option off, since I just hate it when I lose something because RND thought it was a good day to be mean against me. ;) That said, an-always-possible-to-save option

Considering that I always play GalCivII in the icon view and have battle animations disabled... why would you even want to add more graphics then just the cloth map? ;) Besides the cloth map looks very pleasing to the eye (not the mess that CivIV is when zoomed out...) so I'm really looking forward to play the bare-bone beta. :)

Ok, first I'm a bit disappointed in the seeming simplicity of the stats involved in the system. While we don't know how combat will work out in the end, I really hope it's not as simple as in GalCiv with only attack, defense and hp and a bunch of special abilities or in CivIV. Combat in CivIV was imho always boring, since you only had some stats and some special abilities, which made combat very predictable and boring. But we'll see how it will play out in the beta I guess. I'm prepared to co
