I hope something is done to eliminate the tediousness of the endgame combat of MoM-likes. tediousness? how do you mean? I always thought that was where it really started being fun since it wasn't like "I have archers... they shoot you... you die... battle over" or in the case of MoM specifically, "summon creature... let it do the fighting (while probebly shooting with archers)... you di

You do know that the dollar to pound switch has actually caused britons to get mostly better prices on steam right? It's the dollar to euro conversion (for countries that don't even use the euro - € does not equal European contient, Valve) that has people actually shafted on price.

A lot of this has to do with pilots practising on their computers with the many dedicated specific aircraft simulators on the market.
Hey once we got some proper Star Destroyers up we might get a resurgence of the Starship Sim genre.
@DatonKallandor - could not have put it better myself. The sim market is small but still large enough to be profitable. I think also that it is often underestimated. Their was a star trek game that came out recently, but it was sooo simplified it bored me to death. Cannot remember the name. Klingon Academy and Starshatter are the best ones I have encountered so far.
Yeah that was Star Trek Legacy. The game that showed once and for all that Bethesda is one of the la

1) 2000 Armor has far more levels of gradients than 20%. That's why you can't just make it "+20% armor". 2) Okay, then let's hear your solution. I'm really wondering what wonderful dimension you'll put it at that is inbetween "on the main screen" and "one click away". Because right now it is one click away. 3) Wanting to know those precise numbers is obsessing. They're not necessary to win or even enjoy the game. How much hp is gained by the unclean beast? Northstar was a bulletpoint because it's always good to tease people with something new - see the hints on Elemental dropped during the Beta of Sins. If anything I'm kind of doubting Fort Zombie ever comes out (the other Kerberos project).
check out this site and tell me sims don't have a market.
Please stay on-topic. If you want to change armor types/debate please start a new thread. This thread is: 1) Make all numbers easier to understand. Less math in your head and immediately obvious what the effects of each number are. Armor is one of those poorly defined numbers. 2) Make numbers easier to access. As in make them easier to get to, at the very least for your character. 3) Make numbers a known fa
You really shouldnt pretend to understand the topic if its readily apparent that you have no clue. nintendogs,Sims,Mechwarrior/commander,wing commander, tie fighter are just a few off "simulators" off the top of mainstream AAA simulators that tended to sell millions of copies each. So i would have to say you are WRONG repeat WRONG. The genre in itself isnt niche and has multiple examples of million box seller franchises throughout its history. This

Yes, that's one of the best Capital ship sims - most of which are Star Trek, sadly (a little more variety would be nice). Hard to find though - Bridge Commander has become sort of a cult classic, which makes it quite expensive.

As I've proposed in the previous flag-lock thread, I'd prefer flag locks to disable a flag for their duration in addition to locking them (and have a slightly longer duration unless that proves unbalanced), while being able to be used on all flags, own, neutral and enemy. That would allow Locks to be used in a variety of situations - scorched earth flag loss delays, hit and run raids, etc.

Though not capship (not military atleast), Northstar (Kerberos Space Trading Love Letter to the Privateer/Elite/Firefly styles) is going to have boarding actions with fully modelled interiors and individual crew members.

Yes W40k is huge. Stupidly huge - to an (intentionally) comical degree. Noone in their right mind would build Death Star sized ships (which housed more than a million civilians just to provide the infrastructure) - not to mention bigger ones. They wouldn't be fun in games either - once you get to gun #100 you're already past caring about it. So I hit with 900 instead of 1000 super-mega-death-lasers? Who cares? Marine #9640 managed to beat two opponents at the same time? Good f

Which really isn't needed. It would be a far too harsh penalty for death - not only will one side lose the huge gold investment, the other side will gain the full amount. And that's on top of the gold reward for a kill and the fact that there's one less demigod running around for a while. Too much slippery slope by far.
1) Tooltip for the real armor bonus is fine. Just a thought: Why use a percentage based damage reduction with some complicated formula? A flat damage reduction can also work great, as shown in StarCraft. 5 armor can take 5 damage off each shot. That makes high armor really mean something and it can make some heroes be awesome tanks against creeps and only really vulnerable to other heroes. 2. No. Nonono. It just sucks. I want to see eve

1) Armor isn't a straight reduction - it's mitigation percentage. Armor does tell you the precise mitigation value in the tooltip. 2) Just try it out. A creep can take x number of hits from your demigod. You don't need more info than that. The fact that you don't know if your snipe will finish off the enemy now or if you should wait is what's so thrilling about Demigod combat - it's up to you to decide. It's experience that allows you to make the right decision in that situation. Tell

Whenever the next-next gen consoles drop, Microsoft would shoot themselves in the foot by not making a blu-ray drive standard. The only other option would be yet another console-unique format, which would hand Sony the advantage yet again. Putting a DVD drive in there is not an option - they already held back their exclusive games (and the console industry in general) to ridiculous extremes by limiting developers to their tiny DVDs (and no harddrives but that's another story). I'm really surprised someone beat me to Starshatter - it has barely any recognition at all. And then throwing down I've Found Her in the same post - you're taking all my suggestions! Should you use it even though you don't need so the enemy doesn't get? Should you leave it so your teammate can pick it up or you can pick it up later but risk the enemy getting it - and having Erebus on the map throws another layer into the thing.
Yes, I played it, and I can't think of something that would be really bad for a 13-year old.
You mean you'd let a kid play a first person public execution? Nuclear Death from a ground eye view? And let's not forget CoD5 - which features real live video of actual executions. That's something for the kids alright.
