Wow, I guess I put down the game for too long and Alzheimer's kicked in. I've been playing since beta 1 and don't remember any premade road networks in any of my games (which were almost always on large maps). Ah well, thanks for the timely responses.

So I am exploring a large map in the new beta and around turn 15 I run into a rather large road system that could not have possibly been built in 15 turns. I know I stopped playing while waiting for this beta, but I don't remember there being any roads already on any of the maps when you start a game. So am I that far out of the loop or is this something new? By the way, it adds to the flavor of the game by having such things, and I do think it is pretty cool.

I get the feeling someone is going to regret not funding Kael's last project. Frogboy made an excellent choice, imho.

Wow, wish I lived in a country where I could go down to my local retail outlet, purchase a PC game, and return it a week later for a full refund because I "didn't like it". I beat most games in under a week so this would be ideal for me. Although I have no idea how long those retailers (and game developers) could stay operational with such a business model, it would save me vast amounts of money and allow me to perpetually play video games for free! If I needed longer than a week th

And it's not even the 1.01, it is the 1.00 gold version thats up on Impulse...I got soooo excited when Impulse told me there was an update available. Evil, evil Stardock. To mess with people like that.

Hmmm, I can see that I am going to wear out the F5 key in Impulse on Sunday. As someone who has played since Beta 1 and has (mostly) recovered from the dain bramage caused by Beta 2.....good job guys. The new improvements all look incredible. Even from Beta 4 the changes look awesome. To know that this is only the start, to know that this game only improves from here, to be happy :D Great job, keep up the good work!

[quote who="Tridus" reply="154" id="2714507"] Except it's not nitpicking. The game doesn't have LAN support. Saying that it does is simply wrong. It's also interesting to note that when pressed, he started going to the piracy angle: ... This is where it gets ugly. Wow...you guys really don't think things through, do you? Frogboy left the thread b/c ya'll were really starting to upset him over the whole lan nitpicky thing, and you do realize that he is the one that decides how many of his company's resources go into multiplayer, if any. I am not a software company CEO, nor do i play one on tv, but if I saw these posts and I was in charge, you'd see multiplayer support sometime in 2012, if ev

I am not an AI programmer, nor do I play one on tv...but I wouldn't think it would be impossible for the AI to initially have different strategies be the same weight and then as it wins and loses games to modify those weights and write them to an xml file. Not the core xml file for the AI, but similar to a modded file. Basically as it wins and loses it mods itself toward successful strategies and away from less sucessful strategies. Then, when players sign on to the Reactor they have the opti

I still think Frogboy should code the AI to report back its results via the Reactor to Stardock. Skynet learning from all of us would be one bad mofo. Could even make it a checkbox option for those who would rather not contribute to the next step in evolution the evolution of gaming. Oh, and I got sick once...just to see what it felt like.
