Cant please some people I guess. Talk about some backhanded compliments. Ive bought so many bad games in my time and never been given anything for it. You get FE/LH for free (they didnt have to do that, regardless of how terrible elemental was) and yet you lament that the developers may not be in a mind state to develop more content? Your right, you sound trite. They will develop another expansion - I would wager a decent amount on it. Its a business decision - they have a go

Hi, Now that FE/LH is awesome id love it if the metaverse (or whatever the scored version of GalCiv2 was called) revisited or reimplemented. That was such an awesome feature, made single player sorta multiplayer and added badges ect to forum profiles based on skill level played on and alignment in game as well as scores number of wins ect. Will just add so much to the replayability - and gives a reason/makes you play without save loading :) <

I cannot stress enough how much better LH is than vanilla. With vanilla I never got the impression that there was really any different ways to play - I know there is some faction differentiation ect however every game felt the same to me. It just never sucked me in - it missed the one more turn oh hey its 4AM feeling that I look for in a 4X. Enter LH. Totally different beast. You can make choices how to level your heroes (in the game I just played

Last two games as challanging world, challanging AI. 1st game as Magnar, with 2 other Empire (resolyn and Yithril), 3 Kingdom (Altar, Tarth, Gilden). I invade and practically destroy Resolyn (had no choice due to starting position). Tarth declares war on me and fair enough too. I meet Yithril, they declare on me shortly after due to being 'persuaded' by friend. Then ALL Kingdoms declare on both myself, and Yithril resulting in a 3 way gangbang. <p

SOrry if this is answered somewhere or in the manual but I cant seem to find it anywhere. Do heroes share XP? So if you have 2 heroes in a stack do they only get 50% XP vs if they were on their own?

Good game yes, game of the year - not in my opinion. Too many other great games out - XCOM, Dishonored, even the Gods + Kings Expansion for Civ 5... I was hoping for a campaign to grip me... the first three episodes have been RPG lite with no empire building at all... not impressive at all with an overly generic fantasy theme... Sample quest : "Go here and get me the Shard of Some random Thing, so we can walk into the Temple of Genericness." Im moving onto the
True, but that game has the most hilarious and frequent MP desyncs in the history of MP desyncs. And since this game is moddable and that one is the same stale battles over and over at this point, FE wins overall for me. I can get some joy out of playing the terrible cheaty Shogun AI, but it mostly fun to watch as a movie, not for playing as a tactical or strategic game.
Couldn't disagree with you more. I think in general most modern games are inferior in many ways to older games. Despite this I dont believe FE will ever be as purely strategic and balanced as say a game like Civ 4. Neither does it have the true sandbox feeling of a game like EU3 (although not TBS it is VERY close). Tactically or graphically this game doesn't have anything on Shogun Total War 2. That being said, I believe FE will be a great game and as much fun to play as MoM.. whether it stands the test of time a

Flogging a dead horse I know, but this thread needs to stay bumped. In my recent game (.983) as Pariden, Magnar, Resolyn, and Yithril declare on me. I advance my strong army into a town bordering mine to find 2 lairs and 4 armies of strong crag thingies. My army gets attacked three times by the bloody things which is fine, but why is it not attacking the town??!?. I reload, send my army to another town instead, my fortress (near the above mentioned magnar border town) gets des

Please implement Das's solution as illustrated in his other post (ie position in army section on strategic map effects placement on tactical map). If we cant have unit placement, at the very least melee units should be in front of archers who should be in front of mages. The way it plays right now makes no sense whatsover.

Ok although some quests do have evil choices, on the whole many do not. My current game im playing as Resolyn, I get approached by a "young knight" who is then disapointed because "he believed in me" when I chose not to help him. Hrm, was it the part where I was brutally conquering both the Tarth and Relias with my Grave Elementals that would indicate I am worth believing in? Or was it the gallows I am building throughout my towns so I can suppress and subjugulate my populatio

The 3 sons quest is the most recent one that springs to mind. Heal the woman, or dont, but go forth to locate her missing progeny. I havent encountered heaps of quests that allow you to be evil yet but im heartened by the fact you state they are there. I believe every single quest should allow for an evil choice..

12 Replies 15,117 Views

Yeah I believe it should be in the core game. Im not adverse to modding it myself however when the core game is released. Choices for quests that allow you to be evil would be good.. as it stands I find the questing aspect of the game really jarring. I am an evil resolyn dark wraith who is busy summoning Grave Elementals from shards that I have corrupted with my evil death magic so I can brutally conquer the whole world.. but hold on, let me stop to help the peasant

One thing that has been bothering me when im trying to play an evil faction bent on world domination is that every quest I seem to get is "can you help some poor farmers rescue snuffles the kitty from happy land" or some other naff goody two shoes hero type fare. Evil factions should have evil quests... we should have the option of destroying whole towns due to not achieving quotas, murdering aforementioned kittys for being cute ect ect you get the picture. I want to be Sauron

GC2's AI is something I just havent seen since. Neutrals played like Neutrals. Evils played like evils and good's played like, well you get the picture. The badge/achievement system gave a reason to play online single player games (with no reloads) and beating the game on anything above challenging was extremely rewarding. Overall I have such fond memories of playing GC2 Dread Lords and then TA that I purchased FE on that basis alone. I agree with an earlier poster in that FE
Hope he isn't reading this thread, but CIV V had terrible balance and an AI that couldn't fight back.
You should try Civ 5 with the expansion... The AI is significantly better and the game overall is just that much better .. its easy to forget Civ 4 wasnt that good or balanced before its expansions. In saying that Civ 4 remains the greatest TBS game of all time IMO. As far as FE goes review wise, person

Mostly, I just want the game to be fun, which as it stands, as much as I want it to be, im not finding it so. Each beta release that comes out I jump in excited and ready to go... I check these forums for updates all the time however as of yet the game just hasn't gripped me like many other 4x TBS games have and do. In my latest game, the random map I played was EXACTLY square (could have just been unlucky)... I waded through the corpses of about a million mites wh

Its particularly slow when scrolling or zooming. Animations, tactical battles ect are all fine. The stuttery choppy scrolling and zooming on the strategic map is what im talking about. Unlike what others are reporting im also noticing it on the 3d map as well as cloth map.

12 Replies 14,519 Views

Its not really focused. Its scrolling around. I reduced the textures to minimum and removed antialiasing, no change. My mobo has intergrated graphics however I have disabled it in BIOS. I have 16GB on mobo which is a gigabyte UDH3, 4gb between the two cards. There is no way its my system the game is simply not that graphically intensive...

Hey, I bought this a while ago and played a little bit back in .951 or around then... One thing I didnt have back when I played it the first time was slow frame rates and stuttery zoom/scroll. Its not unplayable , but it is jarring and very irritating. I dont have a weak machine, im running 2x6970 and a i5 3570k at 4.5ghz.. anyone else having similar issues or is this known? Is there going to be an optimisation pass over this before release?

+1 Steam. I get annoyed when games AREN'T steam nowadays. Its just the easiest way to shop for games and it keeps everything nice and updated patch wise. I have alot of games and it would be impossible to track the patch status without steam.
