I was pleasantly surprised in my third game of 1.1 when Relias counterattacked a city of mine with 3 "stacked" stacks of twelve scouts/observers 10att/5def after i had bounced him out of his lightly defended (spouse, wife, one defender) capital. He actually went around the back of a mountain range to hit a lightly defended city as opposed to trying to retake his capital where my uberstack was resting. The actual AI during the 3 back to back battles was still&nbsp

Good idea Aeon221! I would really enjoy making it a false flag operation type thing you could do to get two rival factions mad at each other as well as gain resources for yourself. Or a minor Robin Hood faction or Thieves Guild could be hired to do the deed?

I also find it irritating that the max army size is 12 and the GUI on the bottom of the screen goes to... 11. So to see the last unit I have to click a little side arrow... Get rid of the useless gray shield in front of my army and let me see all of the troops at a glance. And how about a convenient town dump button and city gate mechanic like we had in GCII? Let my sentried defenders stay in the town and let my visiting army exit via a set side

How long do you have to play? Is it going from level 3 to level 4? I have two level 3 cities on a 12x8 (large) map, season 438 started against 6 opponents all set to challenging AI. I cleaned out my old troop and sov builds data folder after having frequent crashes last night when I first got patch 109.o. Played 3 hours today w/o a CTD and only two tact battle hang ups that I could auto-battle out of. I had the AI for Umber send an actual army of d

Update on my custom sov, Pariden faction game: Now have 2 level 3 cities, each has an archery range and a command post. Just starting to build 4 man light archer squads (crude bows, padded cuirass). Successfully used same troop as solo units and they seemed to work as they should. I encountered some weirdness with the teleport spell as well... The only spot I could get a green highlight on was the marble pit just outside a newly conquered level 2 city I was te

I have a level 3 city in my new game and have not experienced a CTD after I deleted old custom sov and old pre 109.o custom troops. Just built an archery range and will try archers next session. Just recruited a hero with the native ability of ice blast, very cool. Makes me wish the queen wasn't already married.[e digicons] Great work folks... it is getting better with every pass. Nice work on t

I also liked the addition of the weapon/armor pictures at the training screen so you can see what each troop type is equipped with. I am getting a CTD when I try to train to troops after I built one old type from a previous game. Will try to purge the troop file and play some more. Tjashen remarks have also been my experience as well. I like the faction starting techs idea as well. Keep it up!

I can feel the potential of the game in it's current state and believe it can only get better. I am not a modder myself, but I suspect that this community is bursting with great ideas that will enable each gamer to mod the final game into "their" ultimate 4x fantasy game. Once you achieve lockdown and release, I will be checking the mods page frequently for all of the great community generated content that has already been discussed here on the boards and in the design a spel

Hi Cattess, In answer to your first point: I thought the same thing as well, but I believe they are treating a long sword as a two-handed weapon like a staff. So that is why the shield can't be equipped as well. My old Diablo 2 and Ad&d days were telling me that a long sword is a one handed weapon too. :)

I wish they would just change the shard mechanic to one of flagging ala HOMM or the old MOM spirits. It would make hit and run tactics more viable against a stronger opponent. Other improvable tiles (mines, clay pits stables, etc) could stil have to be within your ZOC. But magic shards... I would think your average villager would like to stay far away from such ominous remnants of past horrors. If anything it will lower city spamming, I for one am t

I was always fond of Cracks Call, I loved that it could eliminate magic immune paladins as the magic was taking place below them[e digicons]}:)[/e] A great little touch, and one that could b e overcome by casting Flying on them. Also, invisible flying galleons loaded with a stack of doom. Sigh... Good times. Looking forward to tonight and all of the upcoming improvements. </a
