Sneak a fast unit out via cloudwalk and kite the armies away? [e digicons]>_>[/e] (In reference to your other post tonight...) Or at least go wreak havoc in your enemies backfield... IDEA: Can this save game be made available when 0.80 comes out as a challenge map? [e digicons]O:)[/e]

That is a great idea and it could also dovetail nicely with some monsters having a fear ability.

I want to capture my enemies' vault and take their goodies. It would be a great thing to have built into the founding city automatically or as a tech that can only be built in your capital. "You have conquered Lord Markinn and the people of Gilden... your troops discover a vault in the Keep containing: [insert item(s)]"

Some monsters should have an aura of fear that invokes a saving throw mechanic vs. the units or hero's intelligence stat. Resist or cower in fear or retreat two spaces (vary it for fun). I like the idea of being able to craft rings of courage for troops or finding a magic item that grants immunity to a hero. it would also make the courage spell more useful... Monsters need manticore spikes, entangling attacks, bear hugs, mind control and other fun special attac

I ended up looking in the Hiergamenon at building pictures to find the Slave Pen (odious to my Kingdom and I went to war with Umber for their temerity in building one!) and destroy it. Tooltips needed... my eyes are old!

In my current game, The Empire of Umber had successfully cleared the city of Dioscrynes (sp?) in the Shroud wildlands and was using it. Good for the AI! However, as I was at war with Umber and taking his cities, I noticed several monster lairs still intact (cobwebbed homes, Shrill Lord Lair, etc) that still held a magic item each. The monsters were all defeated and they were all just sitting there waiting to give up the goodies. Can the AI take thes

If I don't have the tech, why prompt me to build? Why not prompt me just as I finish researching it? Or prompt me that it is now in my ZOC and do I want to research this tech now or put it in my research queue? Right now it prompts me once and then goes silent. 30 turns later when I do have the tech, I have to hunt them down/remember that the place is in my ZOC. If this occurs early enough in the game, it is hidden inside the borders of my city.&

Agreed! Good ideas... Can we please also have champs as quest bringers or liberated prisoners who pledge service once we clear a monster lair? It would be great if a recently recruited champ came to you and offered a quest option: " My cousin to the West has sent me word of: {his brother being held for ransom} {bandit siege} {unrest among the undead} {an artifact of some renown} {macguffin of your choice}. "Let us sally forth and achieve victor

I've had a failure with the dragons eye mercenary quest and the kill the slaver's quest. In each I complete the first part of the quest and then no secondary location or a return to the original spot does not move the quest to completion. Also, a minor thing in the Alchemy quest: Coins are struck, not printed. [e digicons]O:)[/e] Nice variety of quests, look forward to more!

I would like an AI sov in a mana rich region to spam buff spells all over their units and cities and summon both strategic and tactical allies A more material strong sov to create large armies of well armed and armored troops. I would love both types of sovs to harry my flanks with raiders to keep me honest. I would love an AI sov to hit and run with the Escape spell and annoy my stack of doom... I would love for unit gifting ala GC2 from

The diplomatic capital idea is a good one... Heroes could be prisoners ala good ole MOM. Or come to you with a quest offer... "My village is under attack, m'lord! I beg your intercession on behalf of my and my village's service!" As far as the breaking enemy line idea... it could just halve the opponent stack and we assume the missing half fled [e digicons]}:)[/e] And no counterattacks is a lousy mechanic imo... every unit should get one unless they

Flying units that can only be hit by ranged/magic attacks... Special attack/defense traits you can design/build into your regular troops: Furious defense: can counterattack 2 or 3 attacks per round Break Enemy Line: You halve (carve? heh!) an existing squad into two smaller, bloodied, less combat effective units, small % chance it breaks and flees the battle entirely Camouflage/Ambush: Unit is invisible on map until enemy is next to it, a

Good ideas, here. I especially like your imbue thoughts... Sacrificing a shard would sure limit mage spam... and then a chance to fail because your hero is not very magic-oriented = win. And I also agree with some traits being available to ordinary units AND let them be ones I can design into my units. From a previous post of mine: Flying units that can only be hit by ranged/magic attacks... Special attack/defense traits you can design/build into

Within the flavor text of the dragon eye quest when you defeat the mercenaries: "You find them trying to trying to make off.... " a few extra words on the final screen as you claim the eye... Nice work, Dex! War Trolls FTW!

I have 2 high-level (17-20lvl) heroes, one with Berserker Axe, other with sword. Neither has ever been able to score a second or third strike on any enemy type... ever. Also not working for bears against my units...

I second this while running the 0.76 I downloaded last night. I got pop-up attacked at the start of a turn with a research completed message which then morphed right into a battle screen. Never opened the research screen after the battle and hero level up screens. Caught it after 10-12 turns... but annoying nonetheless.... the city snooze zzzz thing on the UI is nice but not very pronounced... something similar for research would be good...

I see salted pork returns, ugh! Did the butchermen have some sort of special attack or defense based on the narrative? They seemed like a tougher battle for you. Thanks for part two!

I have yet to get the beta (bought WOM 8/2010) but I support all of the ideas mentioned above that will improve/enhance tactical battles. I don't play fantasy 4x tbs to build pretty cities... I want exciting battles where terrain and tactics can help a smaller force defeat a larger one. Thanks for posting all of the good ideas!
