I'm sure this relates to Initiative being calculated from the beginning of the battle... I've been playing a summoner sov and very regularly summon Lightbringer first (MAN I love that blinding ability, and he can take a pounding!), often Wisp next, then Air Elemental to finish them off. Several times when I have done this, the Air Elemental, with a fairly high initiative (not sure of the value) immediately got three turns. Based on initiative calculations, this may be because

Here's the savegame for devs to look at the unclaimable lost library in Namtur: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B9ykZ-A5f0fTX1Z3VUVvbDZ1ZEE/edit?usp=sharing

For some reason, there is a Lost Library in the Pits of Namtur wildland that no one can claim (though many are standing there turn after turn) - I believe this is keeping me from clearing the wildland. Incidentally, I've run into several goodie huts and quests that do nothing when I step on them and do not clear. <i
Thanks, abob101! So I'm not crazy - some are restricted. I'll look through CoreAbilities tonight. Since Legendary Heroes will feature more special abilities for units to use in combat, it would be nice to see some traits that apply only to spears, mounts, etc.
I have a vague notion that the traits that are available when designing a unit vary. Of course Henchmen have access to the magic traits, but I'm sure I've seen other traits come and go. What determines the available traits? Technology, equipment, race? All three? Does the "charge" trait only appear if you have a mount equipped, for example? I'd actually enjoy specific traits that come from any or all of those, but I've never noticed a pop-up window that informed me "re
A potential change for LH (and backported to FE?): I like that initiative is penalized by medium and high encumbrance. However, -2 and -4 initiative mean very different things when a unit's total initiative can vary from the teens to 30+! I'd actually love to see a sliding scale: 0% encumbrance -> 100% initiative 100% encumbrance -> 50% initiative ... with all integers in between. Actually, the last number may need to be tweaked for balanc
So I started up my first ridiculous game last night - custom death/fire warlock, custom Empire (Binding/Decalon, because I REALLY REALLY like free units from shards. Incidentally, I'd love to see Binding produce units from Life Shards, if I make a Kingdom). I picked the Wildlands DLC map, which sounded like a great challenge and is big. I like room to explore! Founded my capitol next to a Wildland and started hunting down shards. I found that the Wildland was the "capture
I've gotten crow demons in my latest game - love the binding ability. It fits well into my playstyle to have units regularly pop up! I vote for spawning fluffy bunnies .
This has been noted before, but long ago: I made a custom Kingdom with Binding last night and got all excited when I built on my first life shard, wondering what strange creature would emerge. None, of course. Compared with the Cyndrum Demon (which I love), this was a disappointment. Devs, could you please add a critter to spawn from life shards? I'm playing on the large pre-gen map, Curgen's something, and loving it! After months and months of randomly-generated
I have seen the same, with forests too, I believe! Forest square pic
Oh, and I patched.
Hmmm, I didn't start a new game after running as administrator, maybe that's it. No modding the XML on my part!
Yup, my trees are gone, but their insidious movement penalty keeps catching me by surprise! Running in administrator mode didn't fix it.
I AM DOWLOADING!!! 901 MB? Whoa.
I've run into this a few times - manually end the turn, and the hourglass cursor hangs. You can move around the map and select things, but nothing I've found will make it go to next turn. Not a crash - anything I can submit?
Let me preface this by saying again: thank you Stardock. I’ve been a bad beta tester so far because I was more interested in playing the game than reporting issues - obviously, a good sign. I was so engrossed in the action that if something happened (even a jarring crash!) I assured myself that someone else would report it, and went on. I figured out how to get around the bugs rather than reporting them. <spa
+1! Like! RT!
Greetings! I'm playing a large map, and thus trying to end things more quickly by winning through an alternate route. I researched the spell of making, but it's greyed out so I can't cast it (saying I need 4 influence, which I'm not sure what it is, though it has a cup like faction prestige and says "4", while I have 13 faction prestige). I turned to the master quest, and a couple of steps in I need to find the Free Riders. Their compound spawned on a wall surrounding a wildla
4 gb ram, but since it is 32-bit, only 2 gb is available I believe.
I have Windows 7 Premium 32-bit. Running an C2Q 6600, ATI Radeon HD 2400. 4-year-old machine, but reliable.
Anybody else have this? I've played a lot of games... last night, for the first time, I started to get serious slowdowns. These were in conjunction with an intermittent disappearance of most of the border UI: armies, cities, unit details, resources. The only part that stuck around was the minimap and turn/spellbook buttons in the bottom right. I tried lots of things to make the UI reappear. End turn sometimes worked, and after a while, didn't any more.
Lots of great ideas here, especially re: limiting city spam. Citylevelup bonuses with "cajones" really convince me to focus on growing a few large cities! The one-per-city growth and other buildings make it attractive to spam, plus you get the value of more build queues for units. My thought: could each city (beyond the capital) cost some maintenance? In GalCiv2, new colonies always had a negative cash flow for a while, and that made me think twice before overextending myself.
My notes from playing 2.5 hours last night (between getting three kids to bed, regular clean-up, and having to sleep before work today, that's all I could manage... still stayed up later than I should have): My biggest pet peeve (held over from WoM): sometimes notification messages appear in a very jumbled order, with some events (champ level-up, city level-up, completed research, etc.) taking odd precedence over othe
Gotta re-read Game of Thrones now... though I have plenty of time before the DVD release, I'm sure. In the meantime, seeing The Wall in that 15-minute preview was an awesome experience.
