One heavily armored knight against 12 peasants with wooden spears and padded armor? He's going to crush them like bugs. At the very least he'll take a few o

I just realized hoe biblical magic is going to be once it's fixed, especially those AOE spells.
Try talkiing to the Spartans about defense not stacking...or even the Romans...Heck even the modern military could have stackable defense, just due to they way we communicate back and forth. Defense stacking makes perfect sense when you think of them as a group...not individuals. Thats why they are so deadly...they attack together, rather than just as individuals. Not to mention, you got my back, I got yours. Thus your defens
Note, the same error gets set of by my standard issue windows screen-saver XD
It's too sides of the same problem. The AIs are not getting distributed evenly on the maps so you end up with a lot of them getting bunched up on one side of the map. Also, I don't know what exactly I'm doing differently, but I've never had the AI become instantly aggressive, they seem to ignore me all game long unless I take the initiative and decide to gobble them up. From my perspective the AI is way too passive. Playing on hard c
Wow, are we even playing the same game? I've started 3 games (with each patch release), all on Large maps, with all 7 AIs added at Ridiculous difficulty and I keep finding that I'm too far away from the AIs to make the start interesting. In the most recent game I had to build 10 cities to get close to the nearest AI. And after all that, right after I declared war it sent its sovereign with one accompanying unit into my territory to commit suicide
I agree with the "heir taking over" idea, I remember one of the random events in GavCiv 2 was the leader of a civ being assassinated on one of my worlds, and that for me really was like "Whoa holy crap" awesome.
They respawn if your game doesn't crash, something I've noticed is if the game crashes the dead units don't respawn, the game just treats them as a permanently smaller unit. And considering I still can't get up for a piss or a snack with out my freaking screen-saver of all things causing a DX dialog error or running out of memory, yeah I find myself with perma-gimped units quite often.
Yeah, as far as i can tell most magic is pointless. It misses constantly and does very little damage. Your mighty wizard is much less able to compete in combat that a peasent archer? WTF. Why would channelers be in charge of anything? Magic needs help, i mean really even if shards were working it is pretty silly that you have to get lucky on shard locations for your magic to matter in the slightest. BAM my spell did 1
I was honestly hoping for a huge or insane scale random map, it's not like Galciv where you have to worry about if your ships can travel that far, or if your going to have to daisy chain star bases along the way, if anything it would encourge setting up outposts so you could teleport your army around the map quickly. I mean I want to play a massive weeks long campaign, not something I can wrap up in a few days.
Or even a sov backround or trait will do it.
I'll go ahead and second this, magic is allready a finite resource in battle and when blasting somone with a litteral ball of fire is less effective than hitting them with a stick, then something is wrong. It was so bad I did in fact scrap a magic spec'd character for more of an idiot bruiser last playthrough.
Or implement possible defects, like Crusader Kings has with the production of heirs. INBRED as a weakness of sorts given to children of said unions.
That actually sounds kinda cool really. But I thought the idea was your a band of superhuman demigods so wouldn't inbreeding be one of those "Mortal" problems?
So there I was talking to one of my contemperaries durring my last playthrough when the subject of yet another arranged marrage had come up, I had a particuarly bothersome and unmarried son I was still trying to marry off so he offered up a girl from his court to marry my son to in a hope that it would set him striaght.... The problem was, after they were wed, we learned that my fourth child had just married the young daughter of my first born son..... </p
Well I'll admit I was partially basing this off the blatantly outdated pdf manual but yeah, I see what your saying.
Sorry I didn't make that clear, I can't *Create* games larger than Large.
Actually I just looked again, I still have the original receipt from when I ordered the game, but you resent me my receipt for " Company of Heroes : Gold Edition" <span style="font-size: x-sm
I've heard of people making huge scale games, and yet I can't, anyone have any idea why?
Doh Same here, I think the patch broke it.
Thank you sir :)
At some point I'm going to get that E-mail that my collectors edition box was sent right, I'm starting to get concerned that I was lost in the shuffle.
I personaly like to think that the village is just made up of slow witted backwater hicks who fear change myself.
I had that problem when my sov had the Creuwl trait, like it was giving me the morale penility *again* every fight.

Why don't we have homosexual sovereigns?
You guys missed that discussion and rage. Go mod it Ah the old "A Wizard did it" excuse.
