This is not an MMO, so there is no benefit to a public beta of patches as there is no "permanent" impact by simply implementing changes live and changing them later if it is necessary. If there is anything game-breaking, they simply hot patch it in a timely fashion, which they have already done twice now. It's simply an unnecessary layer that would add more for their employees to monitor, thus adding to their workload. Everything seems to be working just fine a

Ah, I was wondering about that. I wasn't able to put fire in my forge. :) Thanks!
Is there any way to view the special effects without the big E in the editor? Oh, and put me down for the workshop, please.
I bought the game specifically because that screenshot looked awesome!
I love Elemental, but... a fool and his money are soon parted.
Couldn't agree more Jharii. Your mod sounds good, both the setting and your plans are very interesting. I'll definitely give it a shot when you release it.
Thanks. Be patient, though. It's going to take quite a bit of time. :)
One might say that the only reason that the economy is functioning is because it is so boring and simple. :) Strangely enough, though... Just like in real life, the economy can drive everything else. In my Dark Sun conversion mod, I am building from the ground up, and the economy was the first place to start. Everything (and I mean this quite literally) derives from it and the resources. As I am developing new resources, new game ideas and concepts start
The ways of the tile editor are many and mysterious indeed. Would you like to "release" the study?
Oh, no. I'll still do it. :) And yes, it's funny. When you start rotating tiles in ways they weren't intended to be laid out, they start conjuring up even more interesting ideas. That entire tile started with the dungeon entrance as a "stairway" into the ground. It just looked r
Chill a bit, Luketan. His original post was neither trollish or fanboyish. It was simply his assessment. But you certainly did not hesitate to interpret it how you chose to and flame him. His point regarding:
Saying EWOM has "power that surplass" MOM despite being weaker in MAGIC system is really insane
The word he is looking for is "potential." Elemental has the potential to surpass MoM. And he is spot on.
Silly me. My Study quickly turned into an Arcane Laboratory. RAR File Under Construction: Completed: <img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4154/5001
Also I must state that making an 'official' thread on behalf of a community that hasn't endowed the OP in any way with any authority is just arrogant, as are the remarks to many who disagree in this thread.
As is this comment. Think of it as a petition. An official petition with letterhead. It's not a big deal, and is hardly arrogant. Horse is beaten to death. Drop it already.
It just frustrates me how good oddrheia is at lining up tiles... That is my biggest pet peeve about the tile editor. Envy oozes from my very soul.
I am going to redo my Watchtower and Study to fall in line a bit better with the theme. I was not able to last night, so I will be doing that tonight and/or Saturday, and will likely do one or two more tiles as well. I do like the theme in oddrheia's latest screen shot. It would go well with one of my 'races' (Gulg, the Forest City) in the Dark Sun mod.
I think the whole desire for epic armies could be fueled by people envisioning the kinds of mods that they'd like to play... I want to battle Pictish hordes in the Bossonian Marches, I want to overrun the walls of Minish Tirith, I want to burn the forests of Qualinesti, I want to restore Melnibone to its former glory. All of these, to feel as rich as the source material, need a way to effectively represent the huge forces and large kingdoms involved.
Hmmmmm. Some
It is speculation, I said "was deemed not-doable for whatever reason". I never claimed to know the reason, I stated WHATEVER reason doesn't matter, they came to a different end than their plan. As to validating or invalidating, I HAVE read the entire painful post and the OP has chimed in with words to the effect of "you can't deny the numbers of people that want this". Well, based on the thread, that number is small in comparison to that of the overall ownership and even for
Oh, give him a break. He got trolled and flamed and he took the bait. It happens to everyone, Rune. Nothing wrong with him bumping a thread that he referenced in his post so people don't have to scour the forums for it.

However, if the question is where the Devs should focus their efforts, I'd rather they focus on the sandbox play for the simple reason that I'll play the campaign once or twice at most, whereas I hope to play and enjoy hundreds of sandbox games. The only thing that I worry about is the hedge walls in one tile colliding with the hedge walls in another tile... This is a universal concern.
Every unit in that screen shot was not built individually. Just like you can already do in Elemental, and could in MoM, you can build groups consisting of multiple units, and it only requires once click to build that group. To be perfectly honest, it makes very little sense to build a single unit anyhow, unless that unit is a hero/champion type unit. Particularly in how weak one unit is in the game. Even in the wee stages of a city or an empire, you are not going to
