Try FORWARDING your ports, not simply having them open (yes, there's a difference). As already stated, go look in the thread that has the Monk's guide. It will explain what you need to do. And expect people to insult you if you come on here insulting Stardock. Trust me: the company wasn't on a mission to waste your time. Don't take problems you're having with the game personally. -HM

Thanks Zargon0225, I'm glad you were able to replicate the issue I came across with zero ping to some users. Another one I have every so often, which I believe has been mentioned in places, is that at times the connection dialog box says that I'm connected to everybody, but I never get to the lobby screen. The game THINKS I'm in the lobby, because I can hear the tell-tale sound as people hit when they are typing back and forth to each other. But I'm still staring at the

Actually, when I said to use zoom, zoom in and see if it helps the issue. Zooming out shows more stuff going on, which seems to make the issue worse. And do me a favor and try multiplayer and see what that does. For me, I've never had the issue when playing MP. Granted I've only played a handful of games MP, but still... -HM

Thanks, and for the record, it looks like Impulse Anywhere holds the patched versions of Stardock's stuff. Right now it's at Demigod version 1.00.048 from April 16, the same version that's on Impulse itself. -HM

The hammer in mine wa slightly bent but I was able to move it back into place. Pewter is bendable, but you have to be very careful with it so it doesn't snap (since the handle is quite thin). I also had to straighten the flag on his left shoulder, which was nerve wracking. THis also happened with the Pinky Demon I got as a bonus with Doom 3. He was tilted over, but with some care, I was able to move him perpendicular to the base. -HM

Aryanna and Renwold, your issue sounds like mine. Does the problem go away if you zoom in on your Demigod? Zoom and move around to a different part of the map? I've noticed this can help at times. Also, does it happen in multiplayer? Like I said, I think this happens when the AI calls get to be too much, it overloads the processing, and sucks the framerate down. -HM

No, I don't have Google Desktop. For me the issue seems to only happen in single player, with many AI players, and manifest itself late game. When it occurs, usually the problem goes away if I zoom in close. It's an on/off thing: either the framerate is great, or it's terrible. I think there's some kind of issue occuring due to AI processing, which sucks down the framerate, until something "magically" fixes itself. -HM

If you ordered fairly recently then it won't be in the first wave mailed. Those were reserved for people who ordered before February 26th. I ordered way back in April of 2008 (yes, 2008), which is why I was concerned. -HM

I just got mine today. Which is odd considering the box's label says the "run date" was the 10th. Another package which came from much further away, and via regular mail (as opposed to Priority) and mailed later (Friday), also arrived today. So why this one took so long, I have no idea. Maybe you just have to hang in there too. When did you order the game? -HM

The game showed up today. I knew this would happen as soon as I emailed you that there was a problem! The box's label says the "run date" was 04-10-2009, so I have no idea why it took so long to get here to CT (Hartford area). Especially considering another package I was expecting, sent all the way from CA on Friday, got here today...and that was sent regular mail. Weird. Sorry for the mess, -HM

I'm still fairly lame at the game, even though I had it during the beta (just never played that much). I've got one other friend that has it, but we've only had a chance to get together once for a comp-stomp, which is why I've been playing on-line. I'm definitely getting better, but I'm still convinced that all the good players are always on the other team, and that they all know each other and are using voice chat, while my team flounders around silently and aimlessly! Yes. I used Impulse Anywhere on release day. A few days after that, when Stardock released the patch, Impulse updated Demigod on my home PC with no problem. It's quite a fantastic addition to Stardock's electronic distribution system. Otherwise, I would've either had to a] wait until I got home that day to install, do it overnight, and not play until the next day, or, b] Download and actually INSTALL it at work via Impulse, then use the archive function to get it home.

The Impulse Anywhere is what's beta. The game will not be. As I said, this is how I installed it (I downloaded it from work, which has a very fast connection), then brought it home on a DVD, installed, and it worked with no problem. You will need Impulse installed on the computer that you're putting Demigod on. I don't know which version of Demigod is currently on Impulse Anywhere, so you may have to use Impulse to download the patch they released a few days ago. -HM

I expected it, but it is beyond irritating. I continue to play, even though I'm losing, and I guarantee my teammates will quit. Which of course, makes it even worse, because I'm stuck playing with AI against the other side (who was already destroying my team). If this continues I'll just say forget it and play single player against the AI. It isn't as engaging, and it's hard to learn strategies so I can get better, but at least they're not spoil sports. -HM

You can also try downloading it from Impulse Anywhere: http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/ This is how I installed it, and it worked great. Just make sure that you copy all files to a hard drive partition with enough space before running the install. It takes all the small files and compounds them into one large one, so if you don't have the space, or are running it off a burned DVD, the process will fail. -HM

Well I preordered the game way back in April of 2008 and I still haven't gotten my box, despite the fact that they were supposedly mailed last Monday Priority Mail. So either they didn't mail it then, or, it's lost. People I know who bought the game after me already received it. So what happened (especially since they have the right address, since I've ordered stuff from them before with no problem) is beyond me. It would've been helpful to get an email saying it had been mailed
you could just install steam to another partition, durr.
Thanks for the wisdom. The point is that with Impulse, you can individually decide the locations, drive and folder, of the games you purchase with it. With Steam, once you install it, you're locked into that specific drive and location for all your Steam titles. If you run out of room, you have to move your entire Steam folder to another location. -HM

Brad, One of the things I see from time-to-time is that I can get into a game lobby, but I have 0 ping to a player. If this happens, the game cannot launch, since we are not connected to one another, although I am connected to the others, and that player is connected to the others as well. I'm using ImpulseReactorOptions.exe to forward all the proper ports to my local PC (and have used the port checker program from portforward.com to ensure it's working). -HM

Trust me, in beta this game ran great on my rig at 1680x1050 with 8x AA. No reason for the crawling slowdowns now that it's in official release. For me, it's as if some other process kicks off which taxes the game so the framerate drops. Then it goes away, then it comes back. Peculiar as hell. -HM
