I don't know if it will help anyone or not, but when I tried to play Dark Avatar on second PC, I had to re-enter my CD Key into that second PC's copy of SDC. This contrasts with Valve's Steam program, where you can login to a copy of Steam on any computer anywhere, and have instant access (without re-entering a CD Key) to your registered games. So remember to keep your CD Keys handy. If you don't have them around, you can have them sent to you by entering your email address in the box

Thanks for the release guys. I preordered when it first went on sale, downloaded the beta, but never got the chance to take a good look at it. Now that it's finished, hopefully I'll carve out some time. I downloaded it and took a quick look, and I must say it seems spiffy. Looking forward to getting my CDs in the mail. Keep up the good work, -HM

A 4x strategy game - how creative of the community to vote for this idea... I personally would like to see Stardock focus more attention on their free MMO type game (Society). The more of these that succeed (like Guild Wars), the better. I don't like the idea of subscription based gaming, and it would be great to see Stardock fight this fight (they've already done a great job of fighting the no copy protection fight). -HM

Cari, I still get String not found errors in the Options screen in the Mods window. What do I need to do to solve them (since Stardock isn't letting me redownload), reinstall the entire game? I hope not; that would be a really poor way to solve the problem. -HM

How are these prices being arrived at? Why are ship hulls only $9 and multiplayer $20? I bet more people would've voted yes on the multiplayer if it was only $9 (and there's no way people would vote for a bunch of art at $20). I prefer actual content for my money. I enjoyed the builder the first few times I played, but now I simply stick some parts on so it looks rather cool, and that's it. The ship builder is just difficult enough in usability to get it to do exactly what I want,

When you're new don't worry so much about doing everything perfectly. I recommend playing on a smallish galaxy with only one or two opponents so that you'll never have too much to manage. After the first turn or two you won't actually have that much to do except make sure spending isn't spiraling out of control. As long as that isn't happening, you can probably hit turn a few times in succession (at least until a colony ship lands, you encounter another race, you sucessfully research a tech,

I'd like to steer away the topic from whether one type of game is better than another. This is purely a matter of personal taste (and the original poster didn't ask people to state which one people liked better). I'm sure there has been many a Starcraft player who has thought during work over whether spending the extra time to build the siege mode for their tanks was worthwhile, or they should've just went straight to Yamoto guns for their battleships. Those choices also sway the outcome and

There is a certain amount of management in an RTS game, for a TBS game, there's a whole lot more fiddling that can be done to maximize your standing in the game vs. your opponents. In a lot of RTS games, your focus is spent trying to harvest certain resources, which in turn allows you to build units, which in turn allows you to attack the other opponent(s). The "fiddling" that is done is trying to keep track of what leads to what in order to build the structure or unit that can best

There are animated sequences for some things (when you win a game, researching medium sized hulls, the first time you explore an anomaly), but I don't believe you get one for a Wonder. -HM

Maybe I'm just not remembering the original properly. Can someone please be more specific on exactly what is now missing? -HM
