That would be great. I'm a big huge B5 fan. I hope for IC to get a license to develop a B5 edition of Sins.
the version we got shoved on us via the GOP I could swear Clinton claimed credit for that. Moreover Slick Willie is never one to pass up political opportunity. [e digicons]:-"[/e]

Sure. I figured they have done so in response to market pressures, regulatory obligations and membership demands. I was not aware they were going to base rates for insurance and auto rates on credit scores however. That does not see right at all in my book but I would think its membership, in general would not have such issues to worry about but then again I may be naïve about the situation. BTW: No need to thank me [e digicons][/e] but it is appreciated. You should prop
Yeah, right. If Amazon can take out Steam, Impulse will be little threat. Furthermore, if Steam does get bundled with newer games, Amazon will not be able to fight them. That's because those games will require Steam; they will be using Steam as their form of DRM. Which means that those publishers will want to use Steam for their DRM. And they won't want to use whatever Amazon's DRM is on top of that. Amazon may be able to comp

@ Daiwa - I'm in the "hotly contested" political camp. I'm not faulting the act, I think it was ultimately necessary. I'm just peeved over the many special interest motives and pandering behind the version we got shoved on us via the GOP without any real federal protections for the little guys commonly known as consumers. The word "customer" has some glimmer of respect in its connotation and thusly was tossed in the can along with many other good things by the neocons.

@Little-whip - wait till you get the fees for the three little things. It is a double edge penalty. @Daiwa - I know but most of them, to my knowledge have been taken of the books as part of the reganomics deregulation & trickle-down philosophy practiced by Regan and Bush I & II.
Well, not really. Steam and Impulse sell a mix of indie/casual games and commercial releases. So far, all Amazon has is the sort of casual games that you can find (literally) on dozens of websites. See http://www.bigfishgames.com/ as an example. It does have decent pricing on the games it carries, but the catalog isn't that substantial at this point. Also, it's not clear to me that it has the kind of "download-anytime-anywhere-as many tim

@Daiwa - that is exactly why I think the government needs to control the system or at least an independent agency overseen by the government. @Moose - For something like credit reports given the robust and extensive use of such things in the current economic environment within the USA, yes it should be. As far as I'm concerned, ANYTHING that has a profit motive that is inherently biased against the general public welfare should be controlled or at least closely monitored by the gover

@cobra - you stole all my thunder against DRM! [e digicons]k1[/e] karma On a side note, there is a colossal behemoth that just entered the DDL water. I think it will sneak up on Steam rather quickly and give it a super bitch slap a few times before Steam notices what happened. That beast is known as Amazon. They just started doing the DDL for games last week and have an impressive catalog already.

@dj-LiTh -OK. Maybe I'm reading more into your comments than I should - it has been a long day... Anyway, his basic argument is still valid in my opinion. It has been proven time and time again that once a player in an industry has a monopoly position it will abuse the people it supposedly is there to serve. The reason for such practices are not relevant as far as I'm concerned. The fact it always happens in a capitalist system is all that matters. Having competition, and viable compe
Quoting Craig Fraser, reply 3I'm not so sure anyone is trying to take the moral high ground here. It's more a function of economic reality. Maybe if said monopoly/oligopoly did well prices would lower and the purchasing power of

For what it is worth, more than dozen of my clients play MH and shockingly enough they are all manager class, older people at large companies; I find that very interesting to say the least. Several of them told me they play with friends and coworkers (sometimes at work) but most often at night or on the weekends. They keep asking me to try but I cant do the language so no chance there.

Yeah getting the ST & SW franchises might be miniscule at best but it never hurts to try. Shoot they could start with a B5 edition. I remember a long time ago JMS commented about wanting to do a B5 game but nothing simply lived up to his expectations or something to that effect. I think if Craig or Blair contacted him now with Sins and all its awards he w

Many of my clients are into this title. Most of them are people you would not think as gamers. On a side note, I suggest to Frogboy several years about doing a Japan thing and even volunteered to be the point man since I live here but he rejected the idea. [e digicons]:hugme:[/e]

Sweet. I guess I'll wait till it is on Impulse. On a side note as I have said before: Christ guys! Just merge services and be done with it. Spin off both services as a third company with a proportional stake for both in the new service and create a behemoth to bitch slap Steam around a few times. Both SD and PI are solid player focused companies that provide serious support for in house titles so a convergence is in everyone best interest if a merger is out of the question.

I use Steam, Impulse and GamersGate. And as a person who does not like strings attached to anything I have to say that Impuse is the best of the three. I considered GG the worst due to it inconsistent file format and update issues. I should note that as of this weekend GG dropped its app mode and became far more like Impulse. A sign of things to come? Who knows.... The bottom line is if one does not really use/value the social service aspect of Steam it is simply not as good as Impuls
