Talking about Star Wars on a video game message board is like throwing chum in shark infested waters...nerd infested forums... I'm looking forward to it. I really hope that stats are meaningful and that my champion is more than his gear.

As soon as the tactical combat is more fun to play that autobattle, I will be all over the net singing this game's praises. I think after seeing the next beta might be the time, I hope.

So many times I have tried to lead the Irish or Scots to world domination. I actually did have the Irish pretty damn close once, there was a lucky series of events that involved the Turks turning Christian, and My King being heir to both France and Germany and the new Christian Turks. I had really spread out quickly, becoming king of Ireland by 1100, and by 1150 taking Finland and most of North Africa. Spain was still a bitch though... With some assassin

Well, hopefully there is a more Modern ecnomic theory, Nash equilibrium maybe, that supports that two nations can both help themselves and help each other to gain their goals. There is a diplomatic end to the game too.
One thing I never understood about ancient battles that I think would hold only more true in a post-civ: make the summer heat your armor. At the Battle of Monmouth, more British and American soldiers were incapacitated from heat stroke than from bullets. And they weren't even wearing armor--that's just their uniforms. Why can't the officers not be morons: take off your bloody shirts

I would be playing it, but I am not allowed to purchase a new game, self imposed restriction for the whole year. The first CK is one of my top games of all time. As for Gamersgate, for some reason they won't take my payment methods any more, so they aren't getting my business, as it's just easier to buy from anyone else than to contact customer service.

I'm sure after 5 or more generations past the titan apocalypse, people have found ways to create armor and weapons to survive the waste before I create a city. Whether it being through stone use, like obsidian, through scavenging and created crude metal weapons and tools, whatever. I am sure it would be better than small wooden stick and long wooden stick. Most people who were forced to fight in ages created their own spears out of farming tools. I'm sure that i
Fallout 3: Admittedly, this is probably the "best" example of a successful fundamental rework of IP, but those of you who really loved the first three games can't tell me that you weren't just a little disappointed to see that it went real time FPS instead of isometric and turn based. Yeah, there was VATS but that was a sorry nod to the days of yore. Similar writing, similar world, but the underlying system is radically and fu

Looking forward to it to. I'm torn about the idea of remaking old classic games, on one hand you want a new version of something you once really enjoyed, but you don't want the new version to suck. The big problem is that there are these gamers that refuse to look at anything objectively and also see any change in gameplay as heretical. Some times they have legitimate complaints, but most of the time it's complete bullshit.
I would get rid of global research bonuses to sovereigns (e.g. default Pariden gets a research bonus to whatever it researches) and ONLY give research bonuses to particular research trees or parts of trees (e.g. all research in "Civilization" is +20%); this would make a noticable difference in factions.
I like that idea also.
I'm thinking the game would ultimately be easier to balance if group size was consistent (perhaps set in the unit design window) but instead of researching the build size you instead researched experience levels. That way the initial units built are still relevant because they are levelling up as they go. The later units start better trained and so can opt for the experience boost.
Couldn't agree more.

I have to say, I have mixed ideas about the changes to weapons. The changes are nice to make troops more interesting...but it makes champions less so. The abilities like counterattack were things that were gained through leveling and in some way, made champions unique both compared to soldiers and other champions. And this compiles on a much bigger problem. Gear is far more important than the person who is using it. Champion stats, abilities, levels are all smoke and m

Why would they update it to an outdated system? That being said, I wish they would update it to 3rd edition...yes I just said it was outdated, but I liked that system...
