I'd like to avoid only having a single town in which it's feasible to train units too, just makes it dull.
Archonsod
AFAIK the only advantage of the sword is it gives you an attack normally achieved only through two handed weapons while letting you use a shield.
Traditionally archers didn't use much in the way of armour due to the lack of flexibility this would cause.
Yes they did. The only archers to usually not wear armour were the English, and that's because their archers were drawn from the peasantry who could barely afford their bows. Most professionals, such as the Genoese, would indeed wear heavy armour.
Trying to draw back a bowstring and aim using full plate
I pushed back a future GalCiv sequel to make sure we do right by you guys. It's not about the money. It's the principle. It's the community. It's you guys.
Good. My games backlog list is big enough as it is without you adding more to it :P
Whatever happened to the days when people learned by doing? You need adventure tech to visit sites higher than level 0. You can see your current level and the site level in the tooltip when you hover the mouse above the site. City balance is really dependent on the resource sites nearby. For best results, build cities next to libraries, temples or mines and specialise them in whatever they're producing. There's no point building a monastery in a city which
Simple answer would be to make move require a double click.
And today I find my notification that HM Revenue and Customs would like me to pay to import it into the country. Whatever happened to us being a nation of smugglers dammit?
And unchecking that "show promotions" will stop it popping up adverts.
being the publisher, we most generally charge MSRP so as to not annoy retailers
The irony being digital distribution was always sold on the idea it would lead to cheaper prices due to the cost savings it entailed :P Though the comparison is somewhat strange. Amazon and similar digital distributors always sell things cheaper, since they do pass on their savings from being online only to the consumer, so compari
I think the biggest problem with bows is that they come too early in the tech tree, before there are any credible opponents that can actually survive a single volley (overpowered summons notwithstanding). Even sovereigns and champions are no match for archers if they get first strike.
That only really applies to parties of archers, and to be fair the same can be said of a party of club wielders unless you've managed to
Personally I can't stand hexes. Or wargames come to that :P
Still waiting myself. Seventeen days since they posted it ...
Actually, I find they are way too aggressive. I will regularly lure them to attack empty cities only to destroy their entire army one teleport later. A lot of the time this involve their sovereign and thus their kingdom as well. Making them aggressive would just make them more prone to this kind of luring strategy.
It's not just luring, it has a tendency to send the majority of it's units on the attack and leave a single g
Fireball was working well for me in 1.08, though I haven't tested with the b patch.
I had the same problem. Some spells were missing all the time. For me when I changed the casters Intelligence from 10 to 12 it seemed to fix the issue. Don't know if that helps.
That would indicate the problem was the damage was simply too low compared to the target's defence. Upping
It's down to the magic working as it should. It's the combat system that needs adjusting I think rather than the summons. Plus you do have a level 1 unit enchantment which makes them immune to hostile magic, now that's overpowered.
Well, the fire giant has ~20 attack and 20 defense when a lordhammer (a much much later game weapon) has 14. That's overpowered for me.
Two things - <p
Sometimes they're not next to you, they find you via other means (maps to settlements, or the mysterious influence spread you get from quest locations).
Works fine for me at the moment. Only crash I got yesterday was alt-tabbing after playing for about four hours, which is down to Windows not releasing memory fast enough rather than Elemental judging by the logged errors (and the fact the game continues perfectly fine. Silly Windows).
Have you considered the fact that it might just not be your kind of game?
Do you guys ever research squad? Summons are really weak; ATK of squad with mace is like 40+, and with better weapons it is over 100+. And this is for 4 men squad number. There is no way summon can compete with any well-made non-summon unit.
Fire Elemental has similar abilities to a dragon. Iron isn't that important in the initial stage
The problem is the weapons differ merely in a linear progression of stats. They need to be shifted around somewhere, for example make the shortbow quicker than the longbow. In fact, ideally make the shortbow more accurate with lower damage, and the longbow higher damage with less accuracy. It's then a choice between chipping away slowly at the target health, or a gamble on causing serious damage with a much higher chance of missing.
Even if you rushed straight through the levels without pausing to research a single lower level spell, you will be outpaced, and your opponent will be generating 8 figure troops with warhammers. How you would even survive long enough to summon your stone giant (who, by the way, can only fire his ability once every three game turns) is beyond me.
lolwut? Arcane level 4 is incredibly easy to achieve
Still haven't got mine, but sales said it wasn't shipped until the 3rd so we're only just coming up to the two week mark.
I don't think its as simple as that. In a competitive multiplayer scenario, focusing on anything other than Warfare/Conquest will be a huge gamble--that your neighbor is also playing pacifist and is not going to leap at the opportunity to double his empire in size in the early game. An early capital conquest is much more economically valuable than the improvements unlocked with the early civics tree. There -has- to be a mechanis
I don't think the monsters are actually coming into existence after researching adventuring tech. I think it simply means that you have learned about their existence like resources.
It specifically tells you on the tech the monsters are awakened by your scouting efforts. Most of them have been dormant since the cataclysm, like the rest of the world. Not enough people concentrated in one place to feed a dragon, at leas
Campaigns bore the hell out of me. If I wanted a story, I'd be reading a book. It's usually used as an excuse to limit the game features available, which is silly. Not to mention the more ridiculous ones which insist you completely recreate everything you did in the previous level which has mysteriously vanished for no explainable reason.
