I would suggest waiting couple weeks. Last stage of beta still regularly crashed on me and had almost all balance elements as placeholders. Now Frog promising all of this fixed before the release, and they have demonstrated amazing progress during Beta, but why risk jading yourself to what will end up great/classic game in a couple of patches? With this being said, I pre-ordered fairly early to participate in Beta. I might not end up playing Elemental until it is up to my standards of

I played MoM extensively, one of my all-time favorite games. So here is my 2c: * MoM has hands-down better item system, more shiny and a lot more customization options. Elemental aimed to be more like SM:AC, but heroes and army units itemization don't seem to mesh well or work consistently/logically. * MoM has better magic system, more depth and customization, better research options and better combat magic options. I liked a lot "combat effects" spells where you applied persi

Problem: Decided to try playing Elemental on my laptop - no luck, impulse does not recognize I have access to it. Shows my other games without problems. Solution: In options had to check "show pre-release games". I was looking under "view" menu, expecting it to show up as a preference toggle, just like demos.

My 2c I will not purchase a game unless it also has 'hard' copy with it. The only reason I am willing to deal with Impulse is because I can also order "CD" version of the game.

I personally thing that "full" should be unit-only choice, and individual parts should be hero-only. I also want to have ability to upgrade equipment of my existing units via shop.

Few more random thoughts: Military tech tree is too all-incompasing, in most situations you don't even need to bother with other trees. Please condense it and/or spread benefits to other trees. For example "experience" of your units can be stuck into adventuring tree, speed of training, horseback riding, city defenses, watch tower all can be moved to other trees (why are all units have fixed training time?). What can you do with shards? I can't find any use/benefit from them.<

Empire: Empire can't build archery range and as a result archery units are unavailable Empire doesn't have enough tools, impossible to build/train anything without trading Empire can't use horses, but wargs are not usable for training mounted units General: Clymore is too much of an ultimate weapon, better than scimitars or anything else... and is 1 handed Dragon skeletons should be 1 or 2 level point of interest, or drop better w

I disagree with slowing things down, or it will lead to "war" being the only tree ever researched. Instead make key technologies dependent on other tech trees and make training time part of civ/production tree. For example: You can produce plate knights if you just research plate/clymore, but it will cost you waaaay too much time/money unless you have corresponding tech in production/civ and building to support/speed up training.

After getting game to run somewhat stable (turned everything off) I played another 10 hours or so. Here is my feedback: Units: 1. Units cost too much due to excessive cost of equipment and long training time. About the only unit worth training is naked archer. Also units are all around inferior to heroes. 2. Walls don't provide enough defense bonus 3. Equipping units with plate leaves them with zero combat speed, unable to attack or move in comba

Let me start by saying that 0.90 looks a lot better... but zooming in an out caused game to quickly become unstable, glitching into extreme lag. My system: Win 7 Pro patched, Nvidia 280 /w current drivers, 4GB Ram, AMD Phenom Steps to recreate: Go to INN, change zoom while in quest dialog. Another thing: Creating custom hero you don't have sword available to you like some of the pre-made heroes.

5. Item management interface is clunky - its hard to manage equipment once you have more than couple items, it is not clear what and how many slots you have. You can't for some reason trade between heroes and you can't equip your units/knights. 6. Frequent lockups on Win7 Pro 64bit AMD Phenom 9850 8GB Ram Nvidia 280 GTX card. Never crashes (hence no crash report), just locks up with music playing. I yet to play more than 100 turn without this happening. 7. No clear role for "s

I am fairly new to Elemental BETA, but I decided to give it a try based on concept/potential. I enjoy RTS and Turn-based strategies, played Galactic Civ II and all expansions. Here is my feedback based on about 8 hours of play (multiple sessions): 1. Growing city is very confusing - you have to deal with food, migration, housing, levels, prestige, size... this needs to be streamlined to be more intuitive. Buildings seem to be "build everything you can" a
