to alter the core files, in the data folder they are all xml files. you can edit them with simple programs like note pad raceconfig.xml is the race abilities file, change superdiplomat for supersoldier i reckon that gives the imperial feel of space marines etc for techs copy the tech.xml file from the main game and put the copy in the dummy tech folder in the mod data section then the game will read this file in preference then you are free to much about

hmmmm i'm not sure how to do the individual tech tree thing, could probably get away with changing things to good neutral and chaos and having some things that go that way. You should take a crack at it, do a new tech tree and post it in the library as an add on.

cop out you should post it as a wip then other folk may be able to build on your basic desgin and produce some truly amzing ships. people could offer insights into what components to improve with? the whole point of the ship builder is to drive player innovation! I know Kenweb inspired a lot of my ships, his BSG mod was stonking and doubled the size of the GC2 tech tree the man's a nutter and probably never sleeps.

Thats what you would if you were making a 40 k game from scratch. This more of a best fit with the available techs. although could probably make a few things, good, evil, neutral specific but again it is time to go through and build a new tech tree, and then play test to make sure it works. Its this odd situation i came across, i have younger siblings. One of thier friends went to the catholic school and they'd been taught about hell, quite basic "oh hell is bad and firey and stuff" from what i gather.
