The game is not 40k! its a mod of galactic civs that lets you muck about building a space empire! I HAVE DONE IT!!!! and low tis a thing of beuty! Imperial Craftworld eldar Dark eldar ork tau tyranid squat necron (other laern for 40k heads) Star names, pics etc! alas no default ship designs as yet. But outstanding for a fist attempt and a solid base for someone else to build upon
have started working on a bit of a mod. Got 19 pages of star names (and RSI for my trouble) Got about 8 major race pics and icons rewirting the race configure file in the hope that it will all come right in the end. it might at least be a good base for other people to work from.
Weeeeeeeeeeell, tis like this. First you have the class ie you design a medium hull with some beams and some defences and save it as something like "Gladius class Destroyer". Then when I build them I might name individual ships (or fleets if i'm feeling lazy or indeed have a lot of ships) When you build big heavy cruiser/ battleship/ man'o war/ battlebarge (i do like me big ships) you want to name in the kinda name that would strike fear into the filthy Xenos.<
Sadly while I'm pretty good at whole "seeing the 40k big picture" thing. My modding ability leaves something to be desired. Might be open to collaboration in the, star names, pics for races, ship names department though. Already made a gothic class battlecruiser (Drachenfells) from the existing human huge hulls, oooh tis a nasty nasty beast! Best plan i reckon is to do it as a "the great crusade human expansion from terra" scenario me thinks.
so is anybody gonna do a mod are you all just going to argue over the correct interpretation of the 40k universe?
