Get off your high horse.
I am calm. I'm not taking things to a personal level. I'm speaking the truth. Your reputation precedes you. Apparently you feel it's your mission to jump from thread to thread attacking people for being critical. Apparently you feel

I wasn't happy with the release but what's done is done. Now, as you said, it's time to get away from all the drama and move on to fixing things. All the fanboy, hater crap has to go. Thus my suggestion for two stickied forums for people to praise or complain in. It's easily monitored and clea

With the understanding that people posting those types anywhere else in the forums will have their post deleted. It would make it easier on you and your moderators. Because people would inevitably wind up crossing threads, so we'd just have two stickied flame wars. [/quot

The forums are the way they are for two reasons. 1. Stardock put out a bad product and people are disappointed. 2. Brad gives out too much information. We don't need to know the inner-workings of Stardock, their financial situation or how many units of Elemental sold. All we need to know is how they plan to fix the game and when those fixes are to take effect. Much of the forum animosity is of Brad's own doing. Not just because of a bad product release. It's also due to giving out too much in

I haven't even got through all the content for Civ IV yet. That's why I bought Elemental. Civ V will be there when I'm ready for it. Besides, I have all of the other Stardock developed games. I wanted this one too. Just didn't want it in the condition it came in. I did ask for a refund but changed my mind. I'm going to hang on and see how this plays out. In the meantime I'll keep playing Civ IV and DDO. Somebody let me know when this game is finished.

Not when you compare it to other 4x fantasy tbs games such as AoW:SM or MoM. There's a lot to like with some of the components -custom units, I
I'm guessing your argument is that if they lose some credibility or some consumer trust then this is 'the end of Stardock as a game studio the way we know it.' Did you buy a device on ebay or something that tracks such things? Everything Stardock does is the 'true' Stard

They broke even on preorders, right? Anything after preorders is profit, right? Since no Elemental revenue had been coming in before Elemental's release it seems kind of ludicrous to use poor revenue as a reason for laying people off.
That may be true, but consider the possibility that the game didn't sell much beyond pre-orders. Add in the fact a certain percentage of pre-orders get canceled and then also add in returns like you mentioned. All three together may have been enough to precipitate the lay-offs, and not necessarily just returns. This is saddening to hear as Stardock has been a pretty good company to its players, and Brad isn't the first to ma

Breaking even from preorders and making a profit large enough to sustain future development of projects for a 2nd team are completely different things. Not true on this either.
