Somebody buying off the shelf and not knowing anything about 1.05 or not having internet access is going to be stuck with 1.0. That's the version that should be reviewed not 1.05 or later. [quote who="Rune_74" reply="115" id="2743781"] So how many posts saying the same things is enough catching hell? Any thread made in the forums will be visited by someone to bring that up even if the thread has othing to do with the faults. People say someare drinking the koolaide and I say some are going over the top the other direction. Once the technical issues are resolved it will not take long to balance things up.. If not for the issues hanging over it, EWOM would be a superior game for both vanilla settings and the potential of the modding. They could have held off on release and worked on it for several more months. Then when balancing, bug and polish issues were resolved they could have released through Impulse and other digital download sites. Then released to retail stores in February. Maybe not as much profit but according to Brad they had already

As soon as the game hits the shelf for retail it should be open to review. That's the copy that consumers will purchase. It shouldn't be reviewed after patches. And unfinished or unpolished games shouldn't be sold that way if they don't want bad reviews. Sorry but Brad and Stardock deserve the bad press and bad reviews. They've earned it. Any magazine, website or reviewer waiting for this game to be patched before reviewing is doing a huge disservice to the general public and a huge favor to

I understand the window for shelf space was tight and it was either now or February. What I don't understand is what difference it would've made. They should have taken the extra six months. They could have done more beta testing, polished then released thru Impulse initially and later on thru retail in February. Brad is never going to convince me that this game was ready for release on August 24. It just wasn't. A game that's been patched everyday since release is a game released too soon.</

I'm going to answer the best way I know. Barring a demo to try out for yourself, I'd hold off. Asking on these forums you're going to get two kinds of answers. Either buy it because it's the greatest game ever (fanboy) response or don't buy it because it's the worst game ever (detractor). Suprisingly there doesn't seem to be any in between. It's either gold or a turd. I personally think it's an unfinished, unpolished game and I uninstalled it. But that's me. Everyone has their ow
