You really came through... While that should be a given, its actually an exception in this day and age. So: Kudos! Looking forward to playing Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes. Happy I went for that collectors edition of Elemental way back after all. Fuzzy feeling! If its as good as the forums lead me to believe (I didn't have time to test this time around, but FE was already a good game), I'll be sure to spread the word! Keep up the go

I like the military unit road building option. Something to keep them busy... don't want military sit idle now do we. Another option might be to let you buy the road in a city, Like x gold for the road from A to B taking 4 turns. Then in those 4 turns have an animation of the road being build till it connects to the other city.

I can't currently buy any EA or Ubisoft games on Impulse as I am in Europe
That would be ace indeed! Would see a lot more sales to me at least. Take all the time you need. And apply that rule to the whole game. This has to become a gem that will bear turnbased fantasy alone for quite a while (looking at other devellopers), so it better be REALLY GOOD!!! If more time helps with that, I'm all for it! That said I can't wait to try the new version, the current one has run its course and needs a replacement desperately...
So looking forward to the next beta version. I really like the direction. Bring on Rain of Fire!
Ehm the little thumbsup icon should be able to help you out with handing out Karma. Make sure you don't press Report instead... that's something totally different! ;) In fact I gave you some Karma for wanting the hand it out! :)
Great to see some Society engine shots. Was following that game way back, although it was pretty obvious it was moving long at that time. (As Stardock stated, not like they where hiding the fact :) ) Really like the look and the feel now, its detailed, but not so detailed or realistic that you can get the old imagination in gear to fill the whole picture. Very nice work!
Nice, I like the style.
Very nice indeed! Things are getting into gear... bring on the betabugs!
Remember, you don't have to marry people off either, you can (hopefully) just give your son a city and make him a vassal (Hopefully with more loyalty) and let him choose who to marry, w/e. Or maybe make them heroes by giving each of them some magic.
Look at history... having daughters or sons as vassals was not helpful in ensuring loyalty, quite the opposite at times. Power corrupts, total ect... :D
Now, all that said, the beta, which is due out in the next 2 weeks, is NOT going to be fun. Let me reiterate that: IT WILL NOT BE FUN. IT WILL BE HORRIBLE. WE ARE TURNING OFF THE MAIN GRAPHICS ENGINE.
Hmmm you've been saying this so often, I begin to think there might actually be a bit of fun to be found. You're just in denial!
Civ4 did very little for me. I don't like playing "history", and the game itself ran very poorly on my pretty decent rig - if I played significantly past 1000 A.D. the game started to run vvveerrryyy slllooowwww. I hope very much that Elemental is more akin to Alpha Centauri, my all time favorite game. My hopes are high.
Did you try Civ 4 with the Beyond the Sword expansion? I really enjoy the game.
Yeah, I'm still mentally in August...that month friggin' flew by! You'll be getting the beta as soon as we get some post-PAX relaxation in.
Yay indeed! Looking forward to this even if my testing time will only ramp up in October (Hey, I didn't postpone it untill after the summer ;) ) I'll try and get as much as possible in September though, really want to see and feel it for myself by now!
Considering how you guys are looking at it and that you're funding yourself (IE not just delaying to get more money out of the publisher... which would be hard to do anyway) option 2 would be ace!
Clean coding is great! Help you find things easy, helps your colleagues when trying to make sense of what you wrote. Still it also makes it easier to fire you... something to keep in mind :D
Have a nice break! Do try to seperate "work time" from "family time". I know things can get ugly if you don't. Shame the alpha/beta starts later now. Hoped that I would be able to put some time into that in my vacantion. Still totally valid reaons and shows you guys care about the project. Please don't make the Q1 launch next year to much of a fixed deadline. Demigod has shown how important it is to have a good launch. Rather well polished in Q3, then half baked in Q1! <p
Yeah, right, you're really helping me now with trying not to get to excited about this game. Nice job! As for the graphics: Don't analyze them, there's really now point in doing so at this stage. They are only trying to show the "feeling" of the game, but only as intended now and even that can chance if its isn't fun/working ect. Or analyze them, but realize its of little to no use yet. Fun to read though!
Very nice indeed! Great to see the game moving forward and you guys being so open about the process and progress. I'll be watching!
My executive planner and marketing manager gave me a “CEO make over” today with a bunch of new clothes. I guess trade show shirts and ratty shorts just aren’t good enough anymore. Really? I fought for years to be free from that... You're going in the wrong direction like this imo. That light-handed touch and the way you present(ed?) yourself (like just a normal guy) is why you are one of my favorite developers. Just somethi
In Dominions all you have is the cloth map. If the gameplay is good its indeed all you need. Still I'm glad Stardock plans on doing a whole lot more later on! But the idea that: "If the gameplay is fun on the cloth map, we're on the right track." is something I fully agree with.
You guys are even stopping to eat now? Do you ever want to finish this game? Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! [e digicons];P[/e]
Here's another guy working on it: http://www.roughseas.ca/momime/ He was doing great, sadly as with many of this porject RL and other intrest have brought it to a standstill at the moment. Still DOSbox really is worth figuring out if you get a front like D-Fend Reloaded or so, everyone should be able to do it with a bit of trial and error. Its worth the trouble for sure! I still fire up MoM from time to time, its still great but I'm very happy th

Duke Nukem Forever isn't coming out anymore... Sorry to break the bad news. [e digicons]:P[/e] Nah, just kidding! Great that you've found this community. Lots of likeminded cra ... people here. Its still a bit of a wait, but who knows, you might get in Aplha and I guess we'll all get in beta soon. Plus anticipation is half the fun! With some games its even more fun then the actualy game, gladly Stardock's title
