I think the Maul ability is ridiculous and should be modified. At minimum, it should be limited to a few extra strikes instead of the chance to deal huge damage over and over based on a percentage. If not that, then the maximum damage of each successive landed strike should be reduced by a significant percentage. When a Maul unit gets lucky and kills an important unit of mine, it feels cheap. When I have a Maul unit of my own and kill something like the OP stated, it f

[quote who="NorsemanViking" reply="10" id="3330967"] Snaking has little or nothing to do with strategy and hard choices. I always play auto-placement of buildings, so the choices where to found my cities gets harder (drawback/benefit) and so that I'm not getting any gamey advantages over the AI. I see this as well in every game that I play. I've gotten used to it but my brain still wonders what's going on as I watch it. Sort of on the same topic as tactical battle bugs, there are still abilities that don't update the enemy HP bar until after the current turn expires (or until it's the damaged unit's turn again, I forget which).

I agree that the XP chance per turn mechanic isn't very useful. I do like how it looks though; I usually build it in one of the corners of my fortress after building walls/castle (and usually it's the last thing I build) and it looks pretty cool. I also wish that Governor abilities would be reworked. Perhaps after that, the Adventurer's Guild could be reworked to add even more xp bonus, etc, to the city on top of the reworked Governor abilities.

It would be great to be able to toggle how far out you can see these details. Especially with the latest performance updates, it wouldn't even make a dent on game performance (on my PC anyway) to see these details without being zoomed in. As of now, I basically never see these details because you have to be zoomed in nearly to the max for them to show up. I also noticed that there are other neat details besides people that show up, like pennants on tower spires, etc. &nb
