Wow nice, a new version! Time to start the testing! :)

It still seems like mounted units will get an attacks (and thus effective damage) boost if they don't move though. I know we're sucking up your time here, but can you explain why NullAshton's idea was rejected? I think Brad responded to it pretty well. The connection between movement speed on the mai

[quote who="Tridus" reply="98" id="2686917"] Quoting Sareln, reply 97 Agreed. In terms of tactical combat, I really think AoW:SM had it done well. Had cover, high-ground, movement penaltys by terrain or spell... And takes care OK of the retaliation without abusing... pedroente, how did the AoW:SM system work? Units had a "moves" stat. Moves used the same number overland and tactical. Numbers ranged from say 12 for a

That is if you have AP = 4 and combat speed = 1, you should be able to move 3 and attack once (the attack in this case would cost 4, but just uses whatever you have left). A unit with AP = 4 and combat speed = 2 could also move 3 and attack once, or move 1 and attack twice. Ab

[quote who="CharonJr" reply="55" id="2685992"] I think that with different stats for movement abd attacks we basically keep the AP system and give the player choices (always good IMO) while being able to "realistically" represent all kinds of units form slow and weak to fast and strong in addition to being able to set up defensive positions if leftover APs can be used for additional retaliations. Weird stuff, because this isn't working for me. I skipped the intro since I updated to the new version, and I had lot of save/reload problems. Some saves just won't reload even after 5 tries...and in some cases the game was locked-up as well. I reported these of course.
..and here is one more. This time the game locked-up as well, while I was trying to reload the saved game. I had to upload the file, because it's more than 2Mb. Note: This wasn't a "fresh" reload. I was playing -> quitted to main menu -> tried to reload. Debug.err: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6604769/debug.err

I was wondering about the tactical [battle] maps....I hope that the size of them are dynamic. -> Example: Number of units [or groups] on the battlefield / size of the map ->
I reported 3 different CTDs, 1 lock-up & 1 save-reload problem so far...0.9 is kinda unstable. :|

Oops, I replied to the wrong topic. :P
Okay, I was trying to reload a saved game 5 times in a row, but it just won't load. I don't have a lock-up, I can see the animated background, but nothing happens. So, I had to kill the process all the time. Debug.err, after I killed the process: http://pastebin.ca/1902387 Saved game: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6604769/aaab.EleSav
I was able to cast a fireball. :P

I haven't tested tactical battles yet, because I had 1 CTD + 1 Lock-up after like 15 mins of playing...the last build was very unstable as well. I've reported these problems of course.
