As much as I would like beta 5, I think that one reason we won't is that they would have to waste time to diverge the code tree and make a build for us. I think Beta for us is pretty much over, but I could be wrong.
I don't see how it would be a waste of time when the beta testers could help make the day 0 patch more polished.

I built a town right next to a brigand and left it undefended for at least 20 turns. It's still there. Matter of fact I don' t think I've lost a single settlement by any means in the last two beta versions and I rarely ever build garrisons besides in my capital or a super resource producer.

I had this problem my first run after I updating to 4 from 3C. No techs were listed at all under any category. Starting a new game did not help. Re-installed and the tech listing came back.
its still a beta.
It's about to go gold. I don't understand the rush to get this out before civ 5. The game is clearly not even close to ready.

It's pretty hilarious how demonized Marijuana is in this country. Meanwhile Doctors prescribe FDA approved meth and synthetic heroin to children. [e digicons]:D[/e] Heck, America's favorite brain altering drug is caffeine.
Quoting sisonpyh, reply 7 When I load the game it says I"m using TA version 1.96 on the main menu. The unique tech trees are all there. You need to update to 2.02. Do you have Impulse installed?
Hmm. Don't think so. I'm using the Stardock Central - TotalGaming.net client for updates on my game.
Quoting sisonpyh, reply 5 HUH? I'm using TA. On the botton of the Espionage Tab all I see is "Place Planetary agent using the Star Map". Which is the exact same thing as putting a spy on a planetary improvement. Nowhere do I see a "race wide agents" section under the Domestic --> Espionage Sounds like you are missing a patch then, or launching DA instead of TA. It's definitely in the lat
I would have wanted a more realistic Galactic Civilizations. If you play Civilization 4, the game is filled with history. The game and the Civilopedia is one long history lesson. But GalCiv 2 feels like a Civ-game in space. Where is the astronomy? The wonder of space? The concept of huge distances? The game should be filled with realistic astronomy and physical constraints. Fun, realistic and educative...
Not much history in Civ 4

Haha. The planet in question has 300% Production tile and considering I already have 3 Military resources with Advanced Mining Matrix this game is going to be hilarious (Drengi).
Quoting sisonpyh, reply 2 Quoting Hawawaa, reply 1 Also I would put spys on enemy planets they will have a chance at stealing tech, but this runs the chance of spys being killed off and raising the price on making new spys. How else are you supposed to spies if not putting them on enemy planets? You can also place race wide spies to gather intelligence from other races.

To be fair, KOTOR 2 had superior writing compared to KOTOR thanks to Chris Avellone (who also wrote for Planescape Torment), so we should give Obsidian that much. Yes, KOTOR 2 and NWN 2 were both unfinished and extremely buggy. But I heard the NWN 2 expansion/patches make it much more playable (haven't played the expansion though).
In your opinion which 4x games have the best or worst AI? Alpha Centauri (however, friends tell me that if you spend enough time with this game, its predictable and easy. Never got that way for me.)
There has never been a 4x game made that didn't become predictable and easy after playing it enough.
I pre-ordered and have been playing the betas as they come out. I won't give it my official "thumbs-up" yet, but it's quite promising.
well it is set to release in february is it WORTH pre-ordering or not?? I need to know because I want to try this, but I don't want to waste my money if it isn't very polished/fun. can you give us a more in-depth review please
The trade goods I think are like that, but tech can be handed off after you bought it from another. Now, if you turn tech trading off...there is no sales of tech....period.
Yeah, but no-tech brokering seems a bit more balanced than no tech trading period. Would be nice if stardock could consider something like this.
Civilisation is a good game. But it has a CD copy protection and so I cannot play it, when I travel. That is whay I don't play it, but I will gladly return to it, if I have time.
Download the .exe crack. Takes like 30 seconds.
