Does anyone else think that 'Fallen Princess" is an unfortunate name for the stand-alone expansion? As soon as I saw that I thought wow, everyone knows that Elemental took a pretty hard fall, why further the analogy? Plus, it's just not a very gripping name. "The Fallen", yes, that sounds pretty cool and sinister. Or "The Fallen Lords", yeah, I can dig that, it conjures images of Myth and Soulblighter. But "The Fallen Princess"? Please! What happened? Sorry, but Distant Words + Return of the Shakturi expansion is by far the best 4X space game out there right now. Not even close.
A spell named "Teleport" seems kind of jarring for lore. It's a term used way too much in our society. Even in quantum physics lately. Suggestion: Couldn't you name it something a little less technical sounding and more evocative? Maybe something like "Abyssal gate" or "Waygate" or maybe even "The Traveler's Friend". Anything would be better than the oh so clinical "Teleport".
Have you considered letting your sovereign reclaim essence from the champions they embued with it originally? Seems to me that would be a very interesting mechanic if applied to the 'dark side' faction. Kind of a vampire-ish motif. Make it so they could only reclaim 80% essence back from each one or establish diminishing returns so that each time you reclaim essence, you get less and less back to establish some bou

Two things: 1) Lack of decent modding documention provided by the developers. 2) Modding tools were offered that only the most technically savy could ever figure out how to use without documentation. A good recent example of this is HOMM5. Incredibly powerful edi
For those freaking out about the MP, I think you should carefully read and consider what Brad just said about this earlier in the thread (bolding mine): [quote]After release MP will evolve based on what active players are looking for. For release, we're looking to provide a base starting point without making too many assumptions about what those users want. Too many games, imo, come out and say "This is how yo
I suggest that you stick with the classics for default quotes. Here are some. There are plenty more: The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten. Calvin Coolidge On becoming soldiers we have not ceased to be citizens. Oliver Cromwell's soldiers. Let him who desires peace prepare for wa
No HDR looks best to me by far. The other options are way too fuzzy. No HDR is nice and crisp, especially the tower. I agree with the suggestion to make HDR an option in the settings. Many games do this.
