One more issue - turns ending automatically when one unit/hero has finished their move (not allowing other units/heroes to take their moves).
Under game options tick off "Auto-turn". First thing I always do when I get a TBS game - after I move my units, I want to have the option to change city queues if necessary. Anyway, I'm enjoying the game so far. The pacing seems a bit slow, however

The only problem is that it would have to be the same game build or it would be incompatible with ours.
That sounds like a very good idea. It would give Stardock a cross-section of strategies being used by people. It would also show them if there's any broken tactics, so they can balance things out. And it should give

Very, very brief summary of TBS games: Generally speaking, you have sources of income, and you have outgoing expenditures. In the Civilization series, MoM, and the Elemental series, you get your income from your cities/settlements. Having highly built-up and developed cities with lots of population gives you great income and the ability to support more and better units, and the research to get even better cities and even better units, faster. So: Lots of big cities

Had a game recently where Capitar stuck around long enough to build a couple of outposts, but then got wiped by monsters. The outposts' ZoI disappeared, but the outposts themselves stuck around, and prevented me from building near them. I can provide a screenshot, if that helps, but my save succumbed to the infamous late-game crash-on-load.

@Lord Reliant: Lairs spawn new groups of enemies periodically. A new group might go wander off, or it might stay in the tile. If it stays, you can generally tell by the fact they get a special icon over them. Clicking again on such a unit will show you the unit underneath the top one. The bug is in the fact that the icon indicating this status doesn't always clean up properly.

I did. It worked. I did get an issue, though, where late-game saves wouldn't load, something that also killed my original game (entirely in .75). I'll try a new game today/tomorrow, because I do tend to play the long game, and being forced to quit due to saves not loading sucks.

Kingdoms have two riverside buildings. I noticed you put them side-by-side in the screenshot above, but you can actually use them to bridge a river. Build one first, wait for it to finish, then build the other across from it.
Agreed on the building everything in every city, and hearing that they want to lower the number of buildings, not sure that's a good idea- may need to do the opposite. Maybe build times need to be reduced in the later game.
I really, really like the suggestion that's been mentioned elsewhere of having branching upgrade paths. Then you can decide what's important for a particular city. If you want the cit

Two more things: 1. Head of Torax appears to take money away from a city. It's registering as -100%gold, giving me a negative income in that city. 2. Mantle of Oceans increases spell mana cost, rather than decreasing it.

Started playing the game yesterday, and I'm very, very impressed. It's a lot of fun to play, and I've gotten fairly far in one game. For me the game has been very stable, with only one crash so far (sent the debug report in ;) ). A few things I noticed: 1. In tactical battles certain special abilities take a long time to process. On mounted champions, setting the defense mode when equipped with shield takes about 10 seconds or so, as does the Eb

In my (admittedly somewhat limited) experience, by the time these groups show up you should have enough cash to hire them. Population + caravans + a few %gildar level-ups should do the trick. I'm somewhat puzzled by "Because they can't hold equipment...". The heroes in these parties sure can use bought (or found) equipment.

I played, and actually finished (!) a game last week, on a medium map. Some observations: 1. It was actually stable for me! Before, during long games it would either reboot the computer during play, or right after exiting. Didn't happen once this time around (~300 turns over a few days). 2. The annoying really long pause between firing a bow and being able to take another action has been resolved. 3. The AI was really, really bad about using all

For a while they were having issues with rivers merrily meandering their way to the sea... then continue straight on for several tiles into the sea. Looks like they simply decided rivers just weren't worth the hassle. That said, the waterfall at the end of the river in the second picture is rather pretty.
