basically I'm saying on their taxes they still live in your capital, that will be their 'home city' even if they move out to work in another city.
ahh gotcha. not quite what i was thinking of. Well hopefully that'll be something you and the crew can tweak on post 1.1. I mean it makes sense to either physically move the population to the city that requires it the specialist population for the building or require the population "organically?" w/n that ci
global, people do move don't they?
works for me. actually i rather like the idea of having a massive capital city generating citizens, then (theoretically) shipping them off to the hinterlands so i can expand my kingdom. bwahahaha. but yes, like the idea.

I agree that the 10s are just b/s. I'm sorry but this game is no where near a 10. I ranked it at around a 6.0/6.5. in a perfect world the removal of the bugs would bring this bad boy up to about a 7/7.5 IMHO. In order for it to really shine they really need to get into the lackluster gameplay.
Book 2, Cerena is the excuse to introduce more far reaching game mechanic changes and begin to add in the multiplayer modes we have long been thinking of (from custom servers that yes, will work on your LAN that has no Internet connection) to tactical-only modes.
I look forward to 1.3 when Elemental is stable and is a joy to play. However, I seriously hope that Book 2 doesn't simply become a mechanic for making the game what it should be first.&nbsp
The official day 0 version of the game, what is available right now, should address most, if not all the issues that have been described. That said, as is our long-standing policy, we will continue to release updates and improvements Elemental just as we do for the other titles we develop. I anticipate us putting out regular updates for Elemental for months or years to come based on player feedback, suggestions, and yes, bug reports. I hope thi

fyi - someone had cleared up that the tactical combat is indeed turn based, the recharging of the action meter is just for show. It's not a bad game per se in that it has potential to be a great game. This mess, though, needs substantial improvement before it should be boxed digitally or otherwise.

yeap. I'm going to just save a copy of the post and all the replies in a word file from now on i guess. but yes, for new people out there, there are people who agree that this is not a finished product.

Busted, Broken and buggy. This was previously posted but nuked. Sorry guys, but seriously? This is the release? I had pre-ordered the game last fall, played some of the betas, and was waiting quite anxiously to play this game when I finally saw it pop on impulse. I played it last night for about 2 hours. Honestly, I couldn't bring myself to play it any longer. The game may be great but it really feels like I paid for a copy

Since my former posted got "nuked". here it is with a less flamtastic title. nice stardock ;) Sorry guys, but seriously? This is the release? @ VR-Iron - Thanks for clearing that up. I had suspected that was what was going on there. @squeeky - LOL you can equip your guys with things? lordy. No wonder I had to run away and just cast at people. @mtn - that is a good idea. I always used to do that in the Civs. will probably help me figure stuff out. I think polishing up the UI is the first step to making this game palatable. More intuitive menus and something i

Glad to hear that there won't be a memory leak issue in this Stardock game. I remember buying GalCiv2, complaining about memory leaks, getting flamed in the support forums (by you, incidentally), and then returning the game to Stardock all b/c I had the wrong video card with a "must be my computer only" memory leak issue.
Besides Dragons, and perhaps some really high level spell stuff, there are no conventional 'super units' since all units are designed by the player using whatever research they have. There won't be a 'battleship' unit with no equal because there will be many possible variations of the 'battleship' unit you can create and you opponent can create as well.
What we are discussing here are resources that go into a pool. You don't control your own horses? Then you'll need to buy some. The key difference being that there isn't that much abstraction here. If you need A horse, you will use up A horse. Building stables on a herd of wild horses will produce N horses for your kingdom per turn.
I have to say that sounds a lot better than "horse" as a completely ubiq

The food was based off of tile improvements around the city. Anyways, I'm sorry to see this feature go in as for me I expect to find a major immersion breaker. I also don't see how making city placement less strategic can be fun. It seems to me like we're on the fast track to making city building irrelevant a

sounds promising. perhaps a good mesh between Civ3 colonies and MOM food production limits? --edit-- though it's obviously all about implementation. I hope to see some interesting mechanics rather than just a more intensive Civ4 system with a random materials generator thrown in.

so did we just completely rip off all of Tolkien and MoM ideas and pass them off as Fallen/Kingdoms? Not trying to flame here but I'm not seeing how this is going to make for a rich story world. Sounds very similar to the ultra-old school DnD and fantasy themes. "the DnD world generated by a nuclear blast" thus making all different and things gone to hell mated with our Tolkien arch-types. Great source material makes for great ideas but I don't yet see ho
