Then the cap came and killed the fun. Would it be possible to get the cap moved to XML?
I feel the same way. I'm not even playing at this point because this has sucked the fun out of the map modding I was doing. Seriously. Guess I'll check in as the patches keep coming. Really though, a change like this should be beta'd for awhile, not just thrown at us.

My answer to the question What would I like to see stickied? "Less". Please compile a list of links instead of linking all these individual mods. This is my biggest pet peeve with any forum: sticky bloat. I know it's been said before, but I figured I'd post more than just +1.
I can't get FE to use a modded CoreNameRuleset.xml. I had this working in Elemental, but no luck here. Any ideas?
Sorry if my language is confusing. If you purchased WoM before the end of October 2010 then you get FE:LH for free. I'll update my response to be more specific. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks Kael. :) The banshee looks amazing by the way. Can't wait.
So... does this work with the map pack stamps? And with 1.20? Any updates planned?
It pisses me off that people generate "random" maps only to reload it about 5 times to get a good starting position. Folks, it's called RANDOM for a reason! If you don't like the starting position, use a static map.
Now Mr. Dynasties and Sea Travel is going to tell other people how to enjoy the game? That review nailed my feelings thus far.
The way movement paths were implemented is completely pointless. You either need to see them before you move like Troj says, or don't bother with them at all.
To put the score into context, the site and same reviewer rated Civilization V: Gods & Kings just a quarter-point higher at 8.5, and Warlock: Master of the Arcane one and a half points lower at 6.75. Very respectable score indeed!
The Warlock review was bullshit, as Brad himself pointed out. Good to see Fallen Enchantress did well though. :)
Try right clicking on game, and running as administrator. Start a new game and see if trees are there. Should only have to start as admin one time. Old save games may still not have trees.
That sorted it! Thanks Leo - truly appreciate it. :)
I think I had this same problem in an earlier beta and resolved it, but I can't remember how. Very simply put: trees are not appearing on the world map. I think some other stuff might be missing too, but the trees are most noticeable. Probably something simple I'm missing....
Definitely go with SDC. Worked for me after a couple failed direct download attempts.
And why didn't he start his own thread, since his problem is different from that of the OP, and doesn't even reflect the thread's title? It's easy to get overlooked if you attach your complaint to someone else's--and that much more likely, if it's a different complaint, entirely.
But my original comment WAS in regards to the opening post. Anyway, SDC got it so
What browsers? SDC? Error message?
I was doing direct download from Firefox. When I go to install, I get a box that says "File is corrupt" and some other useless message. I'll try SDC.
I keep getting corrupt files downloading from Stardock. I'm not being rude, I just want to play the game. I guess you truly get what you pay for.
64-bit I would pay for.
I'm getting myself in trouble in certain forums ranting about the not so positive reviews of it. Frederick isn't at liberty to curse out reviewers for unfair scores but I am.
You're doing an awesome job at qt3. Love the perspective: you made me go from "meh" to pissed-off about the lowball score from GI. Thanks Brad. :) @Replicators: hexes do not implicitly limit
I'm not a fan of large scale uncontrollable events. I don't mind a local earthquake or something, but huge game-changers are not my cup of tea. Having said that, if people really want this, then I would like a switch to toggle them off. :)
Haven't looked more than a quick look through the windows start menu, but apparently no game manual either, would love to see a little in-depth explanation on the gameplay. I'll have to check the website, maybe they have something there. The auto-retreat thing is kind of weird, not sure if that is a good or bad thing yet.
There's a manual that covers the basics - should be in ..\
So you are doing a "double kill" on the bugs?
This "double kill" thing is pretty much game breaking on maps bigger than Large. I'm playing on 11x8 maps and the AIs are getting knocked off one by one usually before I even meet them.
Hey! It's there now! Sleep is for the weak. Time to check this out..... @Cackfiend - I don't think there's anywhere that shows you when you registered. Whenever you first downloaded or patched the game through Impulse it should have been registered automatically.
Cool - thanks for the update Brad.
Support Actually does help. We are at 2 hours later from 3pm and Support got back to me and got FE added to my download page. Thanks Stardock. If you didnt get anything yet, message support. Im off to play now.
Then I guess I can hold out hope that they get to my email some time soonish. I registered in August 2010 and no sign of the download link in my product downloads.
All I had to do was install it through Impulse prior to Nov 2010 right? Still no invite here.
