Civilized tooltip says it costs less to establish settlements. Whenever I establish a settlement, the only thing it costs is the pioneer unit consumed to make it. None of my global resources decrease by a single one. :/

I have found that if I choose Actions/Attack (or just hit 'A' on the keyboard) and left click a target, it will almost always give me a Battle option instead of that lousy auto-resolve that often happens if you just right click on a target. Likewise, if you LEFT click on a hero next to your unit, you can click Actions and "Recruit" to recruit them. This works even if you're on a dreaded diagonal that, with right click, for some reason triggers an attack instead of
I declared war on someone I had trade routes going to. I instantly lost all the food bonus, of course ... but my trade caravans kept going and I couldn't build new ones to start trading with another civ! :(
The hero that got the egg cannot necessarily return it. I had to transfer the egg from the hero who had done all the previous steps in the quest to my Sov to then return to the dragon.
I've seen a couple posters state that the sov's kids can imbue, but none of mine can -- only the sov himself. Were others able to imbue in previous versions? My sov's essence keeps getting nerfed because I wanted a lot of magic wielders. Got married, traded kids ... now I'm thinking i should only have my sons intermarry because the gal goes wherever, that'd give me more magecasters and by not giving away daughters, I can keep them as magecasters too.
My big gripe about tactical combat is how slow things are, especially ranged attacks. Hit? Miss? Kill? Takes forever for the animation to complete, and then a good couple seconds more before you can shoot again. Frustratingly slow! I generally put out some super elite mounted archers, tweaked with every Combat move-adding equipment I can. I almost have them able to fire four arrows/turn now each. Its become pointless to even bri
From what I've read from Brad's notes on 1.08, it sounds like they will do away with the 50 tile limit. Huzzah! I've been extremely careful in where I put my buildings in my cities, if there is a somewhat distant resource that eventually will be in the city's radius when it reaches or nears level 5 ... I'll wind up stringing a thin chain of buildings there because I know I won't have enough tiles to build everything. If (and when, now that it seems they'll d
I had the same problem in one of the replies above, that going back after recovering the egg -- with a hero (not the Sov) did nothing, it would trigger nothing at the hut. Several folk mentioned using their Sov, so I teleported in my sov, gave him the egg and had him enter the hut alone. That did it! Ended the quest and got me the dragon. She looks like Donkey's wife from Shrek, lol ... kinda purplish.
I, too, have noticed the city sight range doesn't increase with watch tower. I wonder if its possible that only the tower itself gets the sight bonus, but not sure.
Okay, this is very frustrating. I've been building up a rather sizeable military, which of course is a bit expensive. I did so starting with a bustling economy, but now my income is negative -- I'm staying in the positive by having a few stacks of doom out in unclaimed territory to knock down big monster stacks. I finally got my hands on that rare Advanced Economics research that's supposed to improve your income by 10%. However, it didn't seem to do much ... and I r
I used to have very frequent "Out of memory" errors which stumped me because, after the first one, I kept Task Manager running with performance and it didn't get near full consumption of my RAM. Then I read it was an issue with July-and-earlier ATi drivers, and it was actually a memory leak on the graphics card memory. I updated to the newest drivers from ATi ... and about 90% of my "Out of memory" error messages and crashes have gone away. I still get some,
I notice Elemental has the similar unit auto selection glitches to Galactic Civilizations 2. Shouldn't be a surprise, I guess. Units with orders -- like move, guard or fortify -- definitely should not be in the idle queue for tab. The "Autoturn" is hosed, I absolutely recommend everyone turn off the "Autoturn" because it'll snub units and cities that need orders. :/
I pre-ordered long ago on the stardock website (not through Impulse) using the last of my tokens (from way back when ... Stardock used to operate on a buy-and-spend tokens system before just direct-buy). Those tokens were deducted. I won't be charged again will I?
