It did not do so on mine. I am at Level 9 on spells, I completed the quest, and there is no Greater Land Raise spell available.

Well, it depends. If you've just destroyed the bitter enemy of another faction, that faction should love you -- moreso if they were losing their war with that enemy you just destroyed, and yet even moreso if the one you destroyed was on 'opposite' side of kingdom/empire. You should definitely lose favor with all other civs if you destroy someone you were supposedly on the same side with. Come to think of it, there should be 'mercy' options,
1.40 is an unofficial patch made by Lord Brazen. The last official patch was 1.31. http://lordbrazen.blogspot.com/ And so far no one here has noticed that Stardock is throwing in Master of Orion I in FREE with Master of Orion II! That's two, two, two Orions for the price of 1!
Actually I've had the opposite problem with conquered cities -- they're allowing me to build and use multiple caravans!
I've had the same issue. There were a couple quests I completed that stated I received a new spell book, but no new spells are available. I'm at Level 10 in spell (arcane) research. Do I need to research Advanced Magic spell tech as well?
There's no reason to believe they didn't intend for clever players to figure out this use for it. There's nothing to indicate you should not use it this way. Of course it will get completely changed when they bring "global mana" into the picture. I hope they don't forget it and it then becomes a useless artifact with an obsoleted effect.
You can also find occasional great deals on ebay or craigslist. I bought mine for $79 ... it was actually an 'upgrade disc' for some brand name computer, I think Compaq, but it had a license for a full, fresh install instead of an upgrade only.
I am a bad addict of the Civ series. However, I don't think I'll be getting Civ V -- I /might/, but not likely, for one big reason: Steam lock. I don't like the idea of having to have another program running just to play a game. I want the game and only the game running at the time ... well, kinda eating my words there since I have my graphics support program and Windows task manager running while playing Elemental so I can help see what's going on with them when it
What I love is if you have a bunch of summoned Giants, the AI will of course try to go around them, but if you spread them out, put them in a line but a space between each one, the AI will try to go /through/ them. What I -hate- is the screwed up initial deployments. For some reason, when you have a lot of units, especially in city defense, a number of your units will be by themselves right next to the enemy, AND several of your units will be plopped on the same s
Frogboy should probably already know this, since on his 'tutorial' video he mentioned he likes to pick Organized and Adventurer so his Sov's stack will move faster ... and of course I'm sure he likes to, later in the game, buy a mount and other equipment to get his Sov (and his Sov's stack) even faster. The problem is, whenever the Sov exits a city -- with or without a stack -- or any unit, the most movement points they have are 2.0. I have mounted units to serve
The map would really be overloaded with inaccessible goodie and quest huts if you saw them all at the start, and its great to have a source of fresh goodie huts and quests. In GC2, and often in Civilization X, anomaly specials can get consumed quickly which gets dull. I hope they take the "generate new goodies as the game progresses" from Elemental into GC3 when they make it.
It was mentioned to me in a reply and a lot of other posters that you don't have to use your Sov's "Imbue Champion" (which permanently costs your Sov 3 essence points -- reducing his/her max mana) ability to make heroes into casters. All you need is to find the Ring of Essence, which grants a +1 Essence to the wearer. I actually can't remember where it is, so someone who has that memorized ... I think its a 2nd or 3rd level Quest or perhaps a goodie hut. Any
Unfortunately there are too many bugs and bug reports for me to find if these have been reported before. I think these bugs are related and hint at some of the problem. First, the Out of Memory crashes ... it seems obvious there are some memory leaks, as after several crashes, I started running Windows 7's Task Manager with the Performance tab running so I could see what was being used up to the point of the crash, and its generally near 100% on one core's CPU (wh
Elemental crashes with OOM on me when its memory leak gobbles somewhere between 3 and 4 GB of memory. I have 4 GB of RAM, plus Windows has a swap file that seems to double that for 8 GB total. It gets about halfway there when boom, OOM! I know its a memory leak because I have had Task Manager running with the Performance tab open. One of my CPUs is at full, my memory consumption at around half, when Windows closes the app, those drop to nothing ... that in itself doesn
I wish you could get weapons as loot from enemies you've slain, bandits, etc., that you could sell or equip your heroes with.
Hello, If I view the forum "home" (where it lists all the various subforums), under the "Last Post Info" column it lists the thread name, and under that "by" and a link to a user profile. For instance, at the moment, it shows "Elemental: Making a Quest part 2" with Frogboy listed as the last poster. However, if I click on "Frogboy" there, I get Anthony_Christianson's profile instead of Frogboy's for some reason. I presume this is some sort of glitch? Thanks.<
You can only build one caravan per city, period.
I was getting close to making a similar post. I do all of these things. Also, using that Organized + Adventurer trait with Sovereign -really- helps. If you got that route, be sure to buy every cloak, ring and mount you can to make your Sovereign and his/her entire party even faster! Also, summoned monsters REALLY help. They're stronger and tougher than troops, have as much health as a stack of troops (but if they lose health, you
Snathi, evil squirrels ...
That's one I hadn't tried. You can sell heroes. I would definitely not rely on a random post like that, though, without saving and reloading if it doesn't work, heh.
Purely from a combat perspective, I think most folk will consider this too weak and mild, but I think one way to consider replacing 1DN -- and I'm a fan of XDN (multi dice) ideas myself, but think this is interesting to consider -- is keeping the 1DN system, but modifying it such that every level of the hero/soldier increases the minimum (but not the maximum). This adds something of a degree of both realism and balance to the current system, and also increases the value of levelling up
It'd be great if the existing civs had actual working traits, like "Civilized" and "Influential."
Isn't it also possible the AIs are doing the quests?
Savegame, debug.err and Prefs.ini: http://drop.io/chibiabos_elemental_001 Not sure if this is helpful, but figured maybe someone in SD could dig into this autosave file and trace at least one cause of those frustrating CTDs ... if the CTD occurs on more than just my machine, anyway. I've reloaded, re-attempted, even re-booted and re-loaded to re-attempt the action that generates the CTD and it occurs every time. Select my Sovereign, Lo
They actually have 4 movement. I wish you could use a unit in the transport to tport to a part of the ocean that's under your border, though. I built one on my only beach which I wound up finding out I could not get out of because a part of the waterway out to the main part of the ocean was blocked by another nation's borders. :/ I had a lot of ocean squares in my borders past that, but even with my sov on board, I couldn't tport the boat. :(
