There are many ways to limit city spamming. A few: 1. Maintenance increases with more cities (think CIV IV) 2. The worlds population is limited. Cities with more prestige/infra will attract higher population growth. This means that an empire with three well developed cities would attract more people than an empire with seven small cities. I like this one. 3. The cost of essence is limiting expansion 4. Settling a new city could have a high materi
Couldnt the tree be more dynamic? When the tree get to a certain size, it can change rules to not give too much clutter. Instead of showing 12 red archer units it could collaps them into a blue archer unit after reaching 10. Then if you mouse over the blue one, then it expandes to individual red ones that are clickable.
Well, its your choice ofcourse. One final note though. Splitting the text and organizing it neatly will not make it longer. You will be able to say the same in fewer words in my opinion. You will also have more enlightened audience that can follow your points. When I started writing like this on my exams my grades improved in every subject. Why? Because sensors are lazy too. When they find the text summed up in the beginning and the logical conclusion at the end, they can follow my po
Open Impulse. Look at the games list. Choose Elemental and see if there is an Update button at the bottom right.
Hi there Raven. I love reading your posts, but your bolding strategy is starting to put me off a bit. How about you structure your posts for easy reading without the boldness :) Example: Mermaids in Elemental In this post I will explain why mermaids are a bad idea as an Elemental creature. First I will look at the mythology and then I will look at the practical problems of such a sea creature. Finally I will make a short summary of my points.
Writing the hardest to read post ever and calling it "Get rid of the clutter" You have overdone yourself. I just cannot get through it... [e digicons]:ninja:[/e]
EVERYTHING in Elemental is overpowered. EVERY game of Elemental should be a roller coaster ride of imbalance. But Fun. Though, NOT until release dammit. If you are having fun during the betas, I'll find you!
I like these statements A LOT! Reminds me of Total Annihilation and SupCom where there is no rock, scissors, paper system, but all units are balanced "within themselves". They have strong a
It is interesting to see comments from the Steam people claiming that if they go bankrupt or something similar they will release all the DRMs. As if they will have any kind of focus on that in an extreme situation. They might not even be allowed into their offices. It is also interesting to see people commenting that there is no way Valve/Steam will go belly up. May we remind ourselves of Enron or the more recent problems at BP?
Add to that, there were only 2 games I was thinking of buying this year: Elemental and Civ 5, so I can't beleive they may be out at near the same time.
If you add King`s Bounty Crossworlds you got the same list as me for this year. Due to the issue not discussed in this thread I might still pass on CIV V. Havent quite decieded yet.
The "King's Bounty system" is a direct rip from HoMM. I know KB came out first back in 1990, but HoMM has tweaked it's system for decades since and now KB Legends went and took every single aspect from HoMMV without the slightest alteration. I just wanted to point that out.
The Kings Bounty system is an evolution of the HoMM system I would say. It has been improved upon and Kings Bounty battles are far more fun t
We did have a discussion or two about this a few months back. I am in the "me wants" category, but I guess its for a future expansion. Would be cool to bribe bandits to go harass someone else and stay out of my area :)
Its not hijacking when you are this close to topic mister [e digicons][/e]
Hi there! I have been thinking a little about what I like to call the minigames, which is basically small games within the game. In CIV IV warring is a minigame, the balancing of peoples happiness is a minigame, the diplomacy is a minigame and there are many more. What minigames are we expecting in Elemental, and how are they shaping up? All games like this (most of them anyways) have war, diplomacy, scouting the new world, research and so on. But Elemental seems t
Now this next video review is a serious and very well done review from someone who has been playing the Russian version which has been out for quite some time. As a fan of the Disciples series he seems to reflect appreciation of the game mixed with some disappointments. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5V4m81X35Q&feature=related
I have heard bad things about this game on the forum of Kings Bounty. Kings Bounty Armoured Princess is a nice way of removing your real life :)
The Steam Monopoly begins.
Yep, thats the problem many people have with steam. The people arguing that they have steam and it works fine, dont get this point. I am sure that steam works fine, but I am not happy about it getting into a position where other platforms are shut out.

What impresses me most is that Gamespot has the balls to give the game a rating of 6 (I have no idea if the game deserves this), while there are huge banners for the game on their website. That is not common. Advertising would normally give an automatic 8 rating on Gamspot methinks.
I was inspired to buy Kings Bounty and its expansion yesterday, so far i havent been dissapointed in the games
Kiss your real life goodbye :)
The Makarska riviera - Tucepi to be presise. I am Norwegian so its quite far for me :) A very nice holiday.
I missed this since I was in Croatia on holidays. Well, good news can stand being repeated
And finally some good news for PC gaming http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?s=35a07399e40978edcd886e0a66d20580&t=14862 Kings Bounty Legend and Kings Bounty Armoured Princess are GREAT games in my book. Best games since CIV IV in my book. Try them out and support quality PC gaming!!! [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]

I think you are right to worry...
Well, my plan is to get SupCom Forged Alliance (spelling?) when I get a new laptop. Skipping the second one. Sorry, off topic.
