If you read the gamespy review, you would wish that the major sites never touched TBS. Its pathetic.

Please remove the Master Scout on Umber and give them a custom sov with new special trait/ability. Wargs and Horse resources are treated like food (each gives one grain to city). BRING UMBER BACK!
Do you see any tile yield for your first city or is there nothing. If you see nothing, then you have the same problem I had in the beta. A total reinstall of the game will help, but I know its a lot to ask.
I was 9 in earlier beta wasnt it, or has it always been 5? I have won many beta games with them practially alone (and the Dirge of Ceresa sp?).
The death shard demons trumphs all. Split to 9 members in the unit them and you soon have a 244 hitpoint unit.

But there are several points in the new changelog that hints of a general taming of monsters.
I hope that people doesnt complain until we have Heroes of Might and Magic (used to be a great game) where the monsters are standing there to be picked off in the right order. Frog, please give us a slider Monster aggressiveness: Docile - Tame - Normal - Aggressive - Monsterous Docile - Practically Heroes of Might and Magic. All is Disney Tame - They wander more, but dont chase units and dont attack cities</p
Oh god, he is taming the monsters again... I can only hope that they still rock on challenging/hard (where I play). And PLEASE let dense monsters still be dense :)
@Seyal Did you get the death demons and split them. Give Ceresa a couple of those demons at full strength (can be done EARLY in the game) and you will get your revenge. After some fights each demon group has 244 hitpoints or thereabouts.
The new Kings Bounty series is fantastic. Best tactical battles there is. Far beyond Heroes and Fallen Enchantress.
If they make a reality show about a storm troopers life, it will be far better than the three last SW films.... :(
Kings Bounty has the best tactical battles :)
This is the most hopeless review I have read in a while. He just doesnt get the game at all. He complains about lots of injuries on his heroes and playing on easy. The fact that this game demands a bit of a player is a GOOD thing. Reviewers are superhappy about XCOM (which I play atm), but the strategic part is rigid and repetitive (you have to follow the same path every game) and noone is taking down the score because of it.
Ignorance is bliss :) But I really want to know why Umber is not in the game :(
It does a dice roll to see if it succeeds basically. It does not have to actually do it.
Sounds GREAT. I love to play and (mostly) fail too. The victory is all the much sweeter :d I think I have to go down from hard to challenging though, as the monsters have gotten a lot tougher on hard the last few patches.
What I find a bit weird is the low numbers on Steam compared to for example Kings Bounty (which I also love). One important factor is that many players of FE is not on steam (using Stardock Central). So I do hope that FE is selling well, cause its deserved. Current Peak Game 924 2,219 King's Bounty: Warriors of the North 379 1,095 Elemental: Fallen Enchantress
I just get frustrated when CIV V gets a positive comment, but I will let it go :) Maybe this is the one thing that CIV V actually does well :d
You dont need 3-4 cities early. This game has no rush, as long as your sov and heroes are levelling you should be fine with 2 cities for quite a while.
as many as you like (as long as you own them)
Umber removal was the worst decision in the whole beta...
Take 4-5 civ techs first, then go all war techs for a while. Design units that are upgradable (chose the option with the green arrow beside it when you take weapons and armour). Make your first little army fight monsters all the time to level. When war comes use this army to go straight for his best army and take him out. Rinse and repeat. Or get the death demons (from death shards) of Ceresa and make them split by delivering killing blows. That makes the game very different and fun :)
You do NOT have to spam cities. Three is good way into the game. They will grow faster than if you have more cities, and are easier to defend. The trick is to make one (or hopefully) two strong armies and take out his best soldiers immediately in a war. His powerrating will drop very fast. The best if ofcourse to keep up and not look weak in the powerrating (then the AI will mostly leave you alone).
I love it when I dont win. I want the game so tough, that when I finally win its a great thing. This game should have a level for all, and I think it does. There are so many cool things. Try the death deamons of Ceresa (split for each kill until 9 units). Try Altar and buying quests, try to get shadow world spell from quest+++++
