In the meantime, here's an example of a mod that gives you +100% movement on strategical map only, for Altar and Capitar faction. DisplayName, ShortName, Capitol, Description, UnitSkinColor, UnitHairColor, UnitClothColor, Buil

I did put it in there, but it didn't work at all . In the *.xml file I edited the "movement costs" and basically cut them in half. I then tried every combo I could think of, normal terrain.xml in normal folder PLUS my edited in mod; edited mod in normal spot AND mod folder; edited in normal spot NONE in mod folder...I tried pretty much every combo, but it still takes 1 movent for land,
Hey, thanks Heavenfall! In order to make it work, I am going to edit the TerrainTypes.xml from the {Install Folder}>data>English>TerrainTypes.xml
Anyone know of where to go to edit the movement requirements for the "tiles"? I looked a little, found nothing to work with.
The should be generated under My Documents/My Games/Elemental/ScreenShots.
Okay, I've got it now. For some odd reason, I took about 5 screenshots last week, but the folder was never created...I took one last night and it was there...odd, I know, but thanks!
This is from the original post by Frogboy:
Best Buy and Walmart content v1.09 will also coincide with the special content for people who bought the game as Best Buy or Walmart. They get their own special quests. I took a few screenshots, but for the life of me I cannot find them. I have searched the forums, searched my Elemental install folder and the My Doc>Elemental file, but no luck anywhere. HELP?!? [e digic
Thanks for the ideas, guys!! Can you tell me where I would change the terrain tile movement costs? It was the idea I was thinking of, but as I said, I have not edited anything in this game yet and just don't feel like digging for it. [e digicons][/e]
I have not modded at all for this game (yet?!?), but I was wondering if there was a simple way to make a MOD that doubles the movement of everyone. Does anyone know if this can be done, and how (but I am not in the mood lately for complicated modding)? Thanks-in-advance, Jason
Does that mean FIVE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED? I don't think I've ever seen a number written like that.
thanks. I was just looking for a way to significantly reduce the #of turns required to attain a spell.
Do you have the game speed set to "fast" on the first menu of choices when starting a new game? Makes a huge difference (though I haven't actually calculated how much or anything...).
Wow; although I don't like insulting people, when I saw the first response I just said to myself, "Yup!"
Mr. Wardell, Thank you. To me, your statements are worth a lot. I have posted a few times here, but everytime I do I tend to have a "I have faith in Stardock" mentality. I have been playing games since pong (yes, we had and I played it as a kid, scary part was that I thought it was cool), so it's about 37 years or so (maybe a little less, maybe a little more), but I can honestly say that you and your companies dedication are the best I've ever encountered. I kind of agree, to an extent, especially early on in the game. The absolute pure "Customer Support" (or Customer Caring and Friendliness) that this company has shown in the past is just remarkable, so I expect by expansion "C" that much of what was complained about will be approached in-game from a very different angle (ie, "They" listen to us, their fans). I have had a lot of fun with those last several games, though the playtime was quite long for all.
Okay, I really like this game. Yesterday I played 2 games into the "200's" of turns. Yes, there are bugs, graphic ones and the end turn button being grayed out even though no one had anything left. Yet both those games and one last week were fun. The way Stardock has supported games in the past (ie, GalCiv2), I bet by time "expansion B & C" come around this game will pretty well be fixed! It just seems to take a while for it to get going, and while I unders
Yes, I hate losing some good stuff if someone dies on some bad combat rolls.
Here's an idea for A, B, and C: Make a suggestions box that lets people anonymously send ideas in. That right there will stop 90% of these retarded posts that read like spreadsheets because without an audience and the resulting +Karma circlejerk, most people would't care enough to offer ideas. An anonymous box also lets you hear feedback without having to go through the automatic, totally human p
I must admit, this is the faith I have in Stardock (and frogboy)! I bought the game several months early due to the excellent Galactic Civilizations games. Although I do like it, I do agree there are things that could really be improved (as a quick example, it just seems like not enough happens in the world early in the game; In something like Civ. IV, you had better start quickly and be semi-developed before too long, but in this game I often wander around "looking for things to
