I like it when achievements unlock game content and stuff as it gives you somethin to work toward.
Depends what kind of content it is supposed to unlock. I like the WoW achievements in that they unlock cosmetic things, another mount, another pet. These unlockables don't change the game, just something cosmetic. If an achievement is needed to unlock a playable race, or unit or... it isn't fun anymore. You HAVE to do the achievement, or you paid for a game with options yo
The random generator idea sounds similar to an attempted Feature That Must Not Be Named for GalCiv2.
I think it would be easier to write a quest generator compared to the GalCiv2 feature you are referring to. Why? In case of generating a random quest, almost everything can be generated without constraints. In the GalCiv2 feature, they tried to generate something with a lot off constraints (Everything that had gone before...). Hmmm... Trying not to clearly
[e digicons]k1[/e] I couldn't have said it any better. Trying to enforce a medieval viewpoint on the world of Elemental is just wrong... It's a fanatasy world, nothing should stop me from making a faction where the women rule, and the men are send of to a mariage with a friendly faction.
Hmmm, I don't think I've been really clear on what I ment. The problem with the translation isn't typing errors (most of the time) but too literal translations. In that way it's sometimes not very clear what is ment, and otherwise it just breaks the immersion. I've been thinking about an example I coulde give, but I guess it's just too long ago and I can't remember... But if you don't have a problem with a translated game, lucky for you. I guess it also depends a lot on the game and w
but I always thought that text-intensive games (strategics, rpgs, etc.) should be localized at least for the interface itself: reading windows and windows in your local language is almost always better than reading in a foreign, even if known, language.
I don't think this is true, I bought the original Black & White in a local store without realising the game was completly translated to Dutch. I played it for a few days, but the translation was horrible. I put the g
I don't think anything official is known yet... But translating the game to Dutch would be a waste of time I think. All people I know around here who play games, don't like a game translated in Dutch and prefer the English version. I have actually refused to buy a few games because I couldn't get an English version.
Oops... Double post...
I always liked the quotes from Warcraft II that you heard when clicking on a unit several times in a row.
Yes, some of those were great... But I'd also consider going with some classic war quotes. Some suggestions... War does not determine who is right - only who is left. ~Bertrand Russell <span style="font-size: small; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans
I guess I am worried that I will not get to directly assualt the walls of a city and fight for control in the streets, but maybe my worry is premature or misplaced?
As we currently have the option to build a siege workshop, I would find it very strange if we wouldn't be able to directly assault the walls. Why have siege engines without implementing a real siege?
SP for me...
There will be a 64-bit version of Elemental it appears.
Good to hear... Any idea when/if the 64-bit version will be included in the beta?
I did not include question 6, as it was meant in humor and elicited the desired result!
Well, I'm sure I speak for a lot people on this forum when I say that the surveys you provide are really appreciated. And sometimes people need to be reminded about the karma option to make them show that aprreciation. I'm sure I should have given more karma to some posts / people but I forget most of the time... So, thanks for the survey and the reminder (and the karma [e d

Well, I've never played a 'real' D&D or Fantasy Hero game, but I did play Baldur's Gate I and II, Diablo II, Morrowind, Oblivion, ... Dragon Age is the latest in a long list. If possible, I always play a mage character named Scorpiana in these games. I even have a lvl 80 WoW mage with that name. There are a lot of nice gaming moments I had with all these characters (and also many deaths...) and I would really be delighted to see some adventuring mage with the same name stiring up
Champions 12, Heroes 7 at the moment... Personally, I don't really care one way or the other but I think I'd go with Champions. To me, a hero is someone who performed a heroic act, a champion is someone who strives to be a hero. Small difference off course...
300 checkboxes in one screen, or 50 sliders, what would you choose?
The sliders for me please...
There is already an option to make it easier to see the land status. It's called 'Cloth map. env. color...'. I have it somewhere around 50 most of the time which makes it pretty easy to see if land has been reclaimed, without making it too green. Hope this is what you're looking for...
See, that "Kingdom Report" looks more like some application's error log rather than an information summary. Maybe it isn't the intended final form, but this just looks like you're examining statistics or a company's financial statements - in other words very boring. If I wanted something like that, I'd be playing the stock market.
I'm with you on this one, I really hope this is just a placeholder and will be changed in a future beta. It shows the information
We can still have GIgantic maps, but with the normal slow turns, if I get the jist of it.
I think you are wrong here, the potential for Gigantic maps in the 64-bit version was due to the increased memory (> 4GB) that can be used on a 64-bit OS. Without the 64-bit version, the game is limited in the amount of memory it can use (even on a 64 bit OS), and thus limited on the size of maps... Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please...
This is something that has been proposed before... Just an icon before a thread with a post from someone from Stardock (with a link to the post?) would already be a nice improvement, that's something I really like about the Blizzard forums. You can see at a glance which posts might contain some new / official info.
Anyway, that could b the reason to read some books in english
Well, I can only recommend it. English isn't my native language (Dutch is) but about 15 years ago, I bought the Lord of the Rings trilogy in English, some Terry Pratchett afterwards, Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy followed... At the moment I have about 400 books in my collection and I think reading those really improved my vocabulary and skill. It can be tough in the beginning, but if you hang in there,
Sounds like a usefull idea to me...
