Actually that's another really good suggestion. Some kind of overlay that shows you how close you are to being unable to build due to being too close to another city. I built a city a couple of days ago and could only farm the gold mine, couldn't create anything else. I wish I would have known because I would have moved it a few tiles... Ended up razing it.
Yea, because sometimes I can grow in another direction but it won't let me. I thin
I was hoping for better reviews! Since the trouble Stardock had with Demigod (which I love but hated at first), I figured they wouldn't release a game without thoroughly evaluating and finishing the game. Stardock had a great track record; but these last two games (Demigod and Elemental) have brought a doubt. Are they rushing games because of money? or have we as a community become complacent to incomplete games? with hop
Excellent work.
Nice. Very nice actually. Can you do something that would use the empty hand to hand motion. Like knuckles, or predator style gloves coming out of the arm protectors (greaves) or gauntlets?
My computer is out of date. it won't be able to play it even in the lowest imaginable setting. I pass. Civilizations should be played on practically any system, and my 3.8 ghz, single processor with 4gb ram and a pimp video card could swing it. Pass.
RTS = SoaSE TBS = GC2 My vote goes to GC2. Both are great.
Why is it that the loudest people in the room are either the fanboy or the hater? I love the Developer Journals. They need to be locked so no one can post comments on/in them, and the new threads that would be spun off could be heavily moderated. Sheesh.
Sounds fantastic. I'll have to check this out.
GRRM: top five favorite all time author. I don't program/code or have any art skills what-so-ever outside of chemical mixology. I do know how to read. :D If you need play testing or help with the write up, hit me up. On edit: I discovered him through the Wild Cards series. Best Superhero stories ever. ASoIaF follows as one of my favorite fantasy (even with powered down magic) because of his disregard for the characters. I love R
Oh!!!! SOLD! I wish I could help, but I am not a programmer or an artist. I can playtest, and... what else would you need help with?
Hey Andy, great post. I would expand with the magic a little. I'd like each branch to be completely unique. Top to bottom. A couple of spells do the same thing in each book, but otherwise, they are all unique. Want to teleport?? Be an air user. Want to summon?? Arcane only. You get the drift. If you want to do hybrid spells, you either work with another mage from a different kingom, or hope that one of your descendants
Why can't each city be run like a city state! Each of your offspring get's a city, and their kids either inherit it's control or take it from them (takes into account both the personality of the mom and dad). You are the king/emperor/sovreign so you control the whole show on a macro level, but you let them micromanage their domains. Let them fight amongst themselves for your favor. Now that is depth!!! A game within a game. It would really make you chose your spo
I've also been playing Civ since day one. Civ 3 was my favorite. 4 never worked all that well for me, and that is with all the patching and expansions. I do not cheat or use cheats, yet my game would randomly lock up or my cities would stop growing completely. Civ 4 was a huge disappointment to me. Civ 5 would require of me to spend money on a new computer. No thank you. What I want from Elemental is the variety that Civ has.&nb
Bravo! That being said, let's move on. 1.07 is the bare minimum for future releases. Goodluck.
Why not do a total conversion mod to Warhammer Fantasy. All the classic races are represented there.
SM's Pirates Dawn of War II Civ 4 complete Sim City 4: Rush Hour PS3 Red Dead Redemption What ever gamefly sent me that week
My 2 cents. It took Stardock 1 expansion to nail down Galactic Civilizations 2. The second expansion gave it a nice shine and made is that much better. The additional patches/updates made it a complete game. The Ultimate edition of the game is practically flawless. I expect the same from Elemental, but on a shorter time scale because Stardock and Brad have something to prove to the gaming community. The first expansions being free (promised) will bring this gam
First two things I level is their combat speed, not move, and their health. Then I go after magic and strength.
Post #147 - I like a lot of your ideas. Especially the ones that overlap with mine. Riding various monsters would rock. Have griffons and hippogrifs and the like as well.
Any chance we can get one? I am looking for all the resources. Food, raw materials, live stock, structures, wild animals etc.
I love my dragon. Thanks, Elemental team.
I wish you could ride it as a hero.
THis game has a lot of potential depth to it. I hope it gets developed along that line. When you marry off your female offspring, she ends up with the other nation, but does a son stay with you and you get his bride as well? Does it mean your grandkids will go to them or theirs will come to you? and why can't you marry off your kids to your champions? why can't each city as a city state and have it's own nobility so to speak... a champion that yo
The thing I want more of is variety. Monsters, treasures, quests, weapons, buildings and goods/services. In that regard, Civ has it right. Each faction needs to be unique. Unique buildings, unique text, unique everything. Now, when riding a Warg and engaged in hand to hand combat, why doesn't it bite? Why can't you ride your dragon? or a bear? That's the kind of openess I want. The more of it, the merrier.
Excellent. Thanks Brad.
With the 1.07 patch, I haven't met any of his cousins or children. I hope I don't. Combat is tougher.
