but I'm more interested in total modification potential Its things like that which make a good game great. Months later people will still be making new content for the game. Who knows maybe there will be a total conversion to GalCiv 2 that puts Empires at war to shame.

Is this true if I pre-order at EB Games? Makes me wonder why they would not list something like Additional Ship Components that could get people to order the game possibly. Yes, if you order from EB Games it should be the collectors edition (I remember reading somewhere that all US pre-orders are Coll

Frogboy: In this menu I really tried to get the feel of hopelessness, the desperation of life. That whole resistance is futile, all your base are belong to us feel. I think I pulled it off quite nicely. Umm, sir ... That's the windows desktop, the game hasn't been loaded yet .... Frogboy: Precisely.

So, you are saying the extra components are really nothing more then bits and pieces to add on to your ship for looks only? Nothing added to really change the way it behaves, or any real outworking that would give an advantage over an opponent? I guess I am still a bit in the dark on this one. When you build a ship in the game

Getting through Stardock is the clear winner for me, although that might be because I've had HORRIBLE experiences with Amazon, EBgames and about a dozen online retailers. I mean what is the point of pre-ordering a game online, watching the on-line site push back the release date, running down to Best Buy and picking it up for less than on-line, and getting home to cancel the 'Pre-order' before it even has a shipping date?

When one race has too much domination (30%? ) everybody else should allie or at least help the efforts of the ones being attacked. Helping them is helping yourself. Frankly if I saw one empire spreading across the universe wiping the floor with all who stand in their way, the LAST thing on my mind would be running to aid the cannon foder. The

Welcome to Electronic Assholes (E.A.)! We thank you for spending your hard earned money on our Gimmicky Assembled Moneymaking Emission (G.A.M.E.). If you’ll just take a moment and follow the following steps to prove that you really bought the G.A.M.E. you’ll be moderately entertained, not that we care. Step One: Provide blood and urine samples and E-mail them to one of our Grumpy Morons (G.Ms.) (if you have a problem E-mailing the samples

Captain, they've broken through the orbiting space fleet and are beginning orbital bombardment! Calm down lieutenant, we're safe. Are you insane!?! The fleet is nothing but a smoldering graveyard, we don't have a single marine to protect us, we are doomed! I told you it would be all right lieutenant. We have the farmers. FARMERS?!? Sir, you've lost it. What are they going to do? Throw corn at the Drengin??<

The Three Laws of Game Releases 1. A game may not launch smoothly or, through inaction, allow a smooth launch to come to be. 2. A game must obey programming given it by designers beings except where such programming would conflict with the First Law. 3. A game must protect its profitably as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

I just have to ask, do we want a single world government? Seems like people fall into one of two categories, and since this is a sci-fi game forum, lets use popular series and name camp one Star Trek and camp two Star Wars. The Star Trek camp thinks we should have a single government, but they also believe in the galactic group hug and that pink skins can really get along with blue skins. While the Star Wars camp thinks this is a bad idea as there is always the dark side a

Time for a standing ovation for Star Pilot! I'd only add two things 1. The UN is evil 2. The UN is not a Democracy, read some of the documents that they are based on - things like no right to a pubic trial (they don't like you, you die and no one need know) bother me.

I want the 10 seconds or so back that it took to read the original, and totally ridiculous, post. You realize that not only did you loose 10 seconds reading the post, but 10 thinking up a reply, 10 typing it, and 10 spellchecking it (optional). You should ask for your half minute at least ... or cut your losses at 10 seconds and move

2000 lbs of food a week 285 lbs a day 3 Big Macs weight about 1pound (on average) 855 Big Macs a day 8 hours of sleep in a standard 24 hour day leaves 16 waking hours 53 big macs per waking hour So basically that figure assumes that everyone on the planet eats roughly a Big Mac a minute.

Its been a long time coming and I can't want to strap on a pair of blasters and get down with some solid sci-fi action. Although in a contest between Galactic Civilizations and Empire at War, GalCiv is the better game to me. I played the Empire at war demo and wasn't overly impressed. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a fantastic game but not quite a match for GalCiv. Enough comparing. Bring on the Galactic dictators and despots! (or peacenik rebels and diplomatic vict
