Okay, I played a simple game to get acquainted to the game, basic everything in a tiny universe with me playing the Yor and my single opponent the Terrans. Well I won the game and on metaverse it showed the possible cheat warning icon, so I was a bit miffed and thought I’d try a completely different kind of game type and created a normal game with the Yor and a gigantic galaxy to see what the large game is like. This time I changed the Leaders name a

Did you read the sticky? No? Download the sound files by clicking on the + before the GalCiv 2 app in SDC
They took that out as the screen would scroll every time you clicked on turn or menu, very distracting.
I don't understand why someone who is going to buy direct take the download route wouldn't just get it a few days in advanced and take advantage of the preload? I got my copy today and I only had to download something like 2 megabytes. It was over in less than 15 seconds. My guess is he ordered the game via the download route today
Wow, that thing was beyond wacky. Attacking ship 100 attack in beams 50 defense in shields 100 hit points Defending ship 100 attack in missile 50 defense in shields 100 hit points It declares stalemate .... don't think so. Kind of glad I didn't know about it till now
First question, What is this combat simulator of which you speak? Second question, Where did you get this simulator of which you speak? Third question, Does your simulator take into account hull strength (hit points)?
Mini balls, the first tech that leads to the mighty Space Ball I. Be warned though, although powerful the Space Ball I is manned buy the entire asshole family and thus can't hit anything.
One question, what’s up with the star trekish logo? I was kind of attached to the blue bot who reminded me of good old HK-47.
Just be glad you are playing, some of us are trapped at work and would trade a great deal to be home and have a chance to save at least once
Under high scores on the metaverse you can open the galactic map which shows which empire is on top and all that, but my question is what’s up with the little radar thingy? If you click on the galactic map a pair of circles appears with a radarish sweeper. My question is what the heck is that thing, and does it have a purpose besides driving DT crazy.
In its current state it is somewhat flawed, but the true potential for EAW is through modding and TC's. Though other then this it is still a decent game. This makes me wonder, if a star wars game needs to modded or have a TC to start being fun ... why not grab GalCiv 2 and mod it to star wars, that way you start with a fun game and maybe make

I would suggest running the game in a window, I use several applications at once as well and having the game in a window gets rid of a host of graphical problems (at least for me).
ARG WHY MUST WE WORK TO PAY BILLS? I want to go home and rule the galaxy dangnabit, not sit in a little room getting paid while foaming at the mouth to get home and start the game! Oh well, 6 hours to go . . . (and I preloaded everything I could preload, watched the tutorials several times, so I doubt I'll run into the sound problem Sir Frogboy)
Check this forum, finish Pebble in the Sky, check this forum, reread GalCiv2 journals, check this forum, watch the Tutorials, check this forum, sleep, check this forum, work ... while checking this forum when no one is looking, watch Galaxy Quest while thinking 'I bet I can make all those ships in GalCiv2', check this forum, watch the Tutorials again, check this forum . . .
One man could board the other ship and walk around all over the ship shooting alien monsters with various weapons that he would have available. He could find goodies along the way like health paks and stims. You just described 90% of Sci-fi FPS and 45% of all Sci-fi Movies
I think they wanted us to laugh of the moron who reviewed the game one more time. All together now: "You lost on CAKEWALK?!? BWHAHAHA"
Best Buy is strange that way. X3 was the same way, was in stores but not on the website.
You'll always be a star in my book And by star I mean a large gaseous object.
Okay, I think I should clarify a point: were I to ascend to immortality, I would, in all likelihood, be referred to as a "God", because here on Earth my mortal coil is (almost always) considered male. Or we'll just call you Ascended, and let everyone assume whatever gender they desire.
Ummmn for the SG1 fans out there my latest superdestroyer is always.... 'The O'Neil' Works for me I tend to name my units after the classics Pyro, Spectre, Storm, Thud, Diplomat, Goliath, Instigator, Raider, Leviathan, Phantom,Ececutioner, Vlkyrie, Aven
My first shot at a custom race was The Foundation with home planet Trantor and leader Harry Seldon. I'd take you and your Second foundation down ... as soon as the First Citizen of the Union gets done with his concert.
Statement: The Overmind does sound entertaining, for a meatbag. However, it is against my better judgment to join a meatbag when I could blast it. Explanation: While I approve of his enslavement of the universe, relying on inferior meatbags to build entire empires to do what a well designed assassination droid could do is too inefficient. Retraction: Although, I do like the idea of mass chaos and the chance to kill more meat bags. (Clarification: Darth Griffi
I am still not clear if there is a difference between the pre-order bonus in-game content and the "buy it the day of" or "buy it a week later" in-game bonus content. Pre-order has additional physical content (fold out tech tree) but is the in-game content all the same? Put simply: how many in-game bonus content packages are there? <b
Cliché or not it would be nice to have a GOOD Star Trek 4X game, I mean look at dv696's post birth of the federation You have to look back to BoF to find a good Star Trek Game?
